Twitch is under fire again after it restored the account of controversial streamer Nina Lin on December 25, 2025. The move shocked many viewers because her most recent ban was believed to be permanent. The suspension followed viral clips that showed Nina Lin allegedly shoplifting while livestreaming inside a Target store. When her account, NinaDaddyIsBack, went live again on Christmas Day, anger spread fast online. Many users said Twitch keeps forgiving the same behavior again and again. On Reddit, people questioned why the streamer keeps getting chances on Twitch while many others streamers face stricter punishment. The backlash quickly grew, pulling Twitch’s leadership into the spotlight and raising fresh concerns about how the platform handles repeat rule breakers.

Nina Lin responds as Twitch CEO Dan Clancy faces renewed criticism

After the unban, Nina Lin reacted on Instagram through her account @n.nina666. Posting on Christmas Day, she mocked the backlash and suggested her return was always going to happen. She wrote, “We always back… Twitter fingers gon go crazy now.”She also shared a screenshot of a viral post by FearedBuck that claimed she was permanently banned. Nina Lin added the caption, “I had to frame this… I love this so much.” Later, she uploaded another post dressed as The Grinch, wishing followers a Merry Christmas. The reaction online stayed harsh. One Reddit user wrote, “I really don’t understand this. She broke the law multiple times, shows zero regrets or remorse, and she’s already unbanned?” Another added, “Twitch really wants to be as sh*t as Kick.”Some anger turned toward Twitch leadership. A user said, “This company needs a new CEO,” pointing at Dan Clancy, the head of the Amazon-owned platform. Others questioned why Nina Lin continues to be allowed on Twitch despite repeated controversies. One comment read, “I genuinely don’t know why she gets so much lenience. She streamed herself commit theft multiple times.”Nina Lin has now been banned four times since late October 2025. Her first suspension came after a resurfaced viral video showed her and Zoe Spencer behaving inappropriately with Said, a member of FaZe Clan’s production team, during a live stream. Her latest ban followed the Target incident, which many believed would end her Twitch career. For now, Twitch has not released a detailed public statement explaining why the ban was lifted. Also Read: Viral Video Shows Clavicular And N3on Attacked With Red Liquid As Past Crash Livestream Resurfaces Amid Ongoing Kick Ban

‘Personality rights’: Remove AI-generated content on actor Shilpa Shetty, says Bombay high court | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: Bombay high court on Friday, in an interim order, granted relief to actor Shilpa Shetty in her plea to restrain several known and unknown social media platforms, artificial intelligence (AI)-linked entities, and others, including all unknown persons, from posting manipulated or morphed images and videos of her, alleging violation of her “personality rights. The HC single judge bench of Justice Advait Sethna, during the vacation, directed the various known and unknown sites to forthwith delete and pull down links, posts, URLs, and websites carrying such allegedly manipulated content of Shetty. The judge observed that the material present on record by Shetty’s lawyer, Sana Raees Khan, was “prima facie extremely disturbing” and “no personality, much less a person and or a woman, can be portrayed in a fashion which affects her fundamental right to privacy and that too, without her knowledge and or consent.Justice Sethna said, the photos shown appear to be deepfakes and “photos as presented, prima facie would tarnish her public image, which ought to be deprecated.”The HC didn’t go into Shetty’s personality rights claim at this stage but “the courts have treated such rights as a shield for women against privacy violations, especially in the context of digital malignment and AI-generated content. To reconstruct a person’s identity without consent is a violation of their digital personhood. This appears to be the case here.”The HC added: “Such blatant violations if found to be true/genuine, by misusing technology and AI ought to be nipped in the bud. A person’s much less a woman’s dignity cannot be publicly maligned or defamed that too without consent which is the sine qua non for such publications. Artificial Intelligence and technology are a boon in today’s contemporary times to be employed to ensure speedier and efficient implementation of the laws, and not as a handle of its misuse.Shetty petitioned the HC recently, and since her matter, though listed earlier, did not reach due to a paucity of time, her lawyer mentioned it again before the vacation bench and argued that the named defendants “unauthorisedly exploited the plaintiff’s (Shetty’s) likeness and image without her explicit consent in order to make commercial gains.”Advocate Amishi Sodani appeared before the HC via VC for Google LLC.

Michael Hussey provides his predictions for the BBL|15 playoff contenders

As the Big Bash League (BBL|15) season gains momentum, cricket legend Michael Hussey has sparked debate among fans with his latest predictions for the tournament’s top four. His insights come at a pivotal moment when the standings are beginning to take a definitive shape, revealing which squads possess the depth required for a deep run in the playoffs.

Big Bash League: Michael Hussey’s BBL|15 playoff predictions

Hussey has identified a clear favorite in the Hobart Hurricanes while describing the battle for the remaining spots as a competitive raffle. His analysis emphasizes the importance of established experience and the potential for explosive batting lineups to dominate the back end of the season.

“How about Hurricanes number one? They stand out to me as the best team in the competition. At this stage, things can change, but I think they look strong. They’ve got all the bases covered. As for the other three teams. I think you can. It’s a bit of a raffle. I think the stars with Maxwell and Status, they’re gonna settled back in there that line up there as well. They’ve got a lot of experience there. Thunder of only won one game, but I actually think they’re not a bad team, okay, so I’m gonna squeeze them in there. And then the Scorchers, they’re batting that top seven, they’re going to be unstoppable. That 300 they could. I thought they were on. I think with that, the strength in their batting, they’re gonna win some games. You know, they’ve just got to get a bit. Their bowling sort out, but I still see them in the top four.”

BBL|15: Performance analysis of the Hussey’s top four

The Melbourne Stars have emerged as the team to beat in the early stages of BBL|15, sitting comfortably at the top of the table with a perfect start. Under the leadership of Marcus Stoinis, who remains undismissed this season with 94 runs, the Stars have combined tactical efficiency with a lethal bowling attack led by Haris Rauf.

Following closely are the Hurricanes, who Hussey labeled as the most complete side. Despite a narrow loss to the Stars at the MCG, the Hurricanes have displayed formidable strength through Ben McDermott’s consistent run-scoring and the aggressive powerplay hitting of Mitchell Owen and Nikhil Chaudhary. Their balance across all departments makes them a genuine threat to every other franchise in the league.

Meanwhile, the Perth Scorchers and Sydney Thunder represent the high-ceiling picks in Hussey’s four. The Scorchers recently made headlines after posting a gargantuan 6/257 against the Brisbane Heat, proving Hussey’s claim that their top seven is unstoppable, with Cooper Connolly and Finn Allen scoring heavily via boundaries.

Although their bowling has struggled for consistency, evidenced by the Heat chasing down that record total, their batting firepower alone is enough to intimidate any opponent. The Thunder, though sitting lower in the standings with only one win from three games, showed signs of life in their recent 43-run victory over the Heat. With Sam Billings finding form and Shadab Khan leading their wicket-takers, the Thunder possess the veteran core that Hussey believes will eventually squeeze them into the finals race.

‘Not great’: Magnus Carlsen opens up on relations with FIDE ahead of World Rapid & Blitz return after ‘Jeansgate’ | Cricket News

‘Not great’: Magnus Carlsen opens up on relations with FIDE ahead of World Rapid & Blitz return after ‘Jeansgate’

World No. 1 and five-time World champion Magnus Carlsen has returned to take part in the FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Championships in Qatar. Speaking ahead of the tournament in Doha, the Norwegian discussed his relationship with the game’s governing body, FIDE, especially after last year’s much-publicised “jeansgate” controversy.

GM Bibisara Assaubayeva Exclusive: Sindarov’s World Cup win, Candidates ambitions, and more #chess

The 2025 edition of the World Rapid & Blitz Championships is being held in Doha, Qatar, from December 26 to 30 at the Sports and Events Complex, Qatar University. With a prize fund exceeding €1 million, the event marks Doha’s return as host after a nine-year gap. The open section features 251 players, including 57 rated above 2600, while the women’s event includes 141 participants, with 41 rated over 2300.At Thursday’s pre-tournament press conference, Carlsen stressed that personal relationships, rather than institutional ties, played the biggest role in his return to the event. “My family and I have had a great relationship with Mohammed and the organising committee here for many years. I think we’ve had three family trips here, to the Qatar Masters twice, which I like tremendously, and the World Rapid and Blitz. I really enjoyed the last time, even though my play wasn’t very good,” Carlsen said. “We also have a lot of family here now, so we’re very happy to be back. That was a massive factor in me playing here, and honestly, a very big part of the reason why I wanted to play.”He also acknowledged the expectations back home, adding, “Apart from that, there are some other reasons as well. There’s definitely some expectation of me in Norway to provide holiday entertainment. I’m not saying that’s a decisive factor, but it definitely plays a role, and I want to provide that.“There was also a question about what motivates me during games and so on. I love playing, and coming here forces me to really do my best. I still play quite a number of events, and my motivation can be a little bit up and down, but coming here I know that nothing except my best is acceptable, and that motivates me too.”When asked directly about FIDE, Carlsen was blunt. “As for my relationship with FIDE, I wouldn’t say that it’s great. In terms of coming here, my family’s relationship with Muhammad and the Qatar Chess Federation is much more important,” he added. The comments inevitably revive memories of “jeansgate”, when Carlsen was forfeited from the final round of the 2024 World Rapid Championship after refusing to change his jeans, deemed a dress-code violation by arbiters. Earlier this year, they were sold at auction for $36,100, far above their original retail price of $300–$500. Carlsen donated the proceeds to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, adding a philanthropic twist to the saga.

The India Meteorological Department said wind speeds remained low during the early morning hours and briefly reached 10kmph from the southwest later in the day. Weather analysts warned that a series of western disturbances could keep pollution levels elevated in the coming days. The weather department has issued a yellow alert, warning of moderate to dense fog.
