UDAIPUR: A manager at a private IT company alleged that she was gang-raped by her company’s CEO and an executive head’s husband in a moving car, the city police said Wednesday. The manager alleged that the woman executive head was also present in the vehicle when the gang-rape and molestation occurred. All three accused were detained and questioned Wednesday. The crime allegedly took place in the city’s Sukher area on Dec 20, during what was supposed to be a celebratory outing for the company CEO’s birthday.
According to the survivor’s statement, she attended the CEO’s birthday and New Year party, which began at a hotel in Shobhagpura around 9pm and continued until nearly 1:30am. During the party, heavy drinking ensued, and the manager became nearly unconscious. It was at this vulnerable moment that the hosts, including the company’s CEO, the woman executive head, and the executive’s husband, allegedly took advantage of her. The survivor reported to police that when the other guests departed, the trio offered to drop her home. They allegedly coerced her into the executive head’s car and instead of heading directly to her residence, they stopped on the way and purchased an item resembling a cigarette from a local shop. The survivor was allegedly forced to consume this item, which left her unconscious. Upon regaining partial consciousness, she realised that the CEO molested her and that the executive’s husband raped her. Despite her repeated pleas for them to take her home, it was not until around 5am that they complied, she told the police. After the ordeal, the survivor reviewed audio and video footage from the car’s dashcam, which recorded the entire crime. Fearing for her safety and feeling violated, she filed a police complaint three days later, on Dec 23. Police registered a gang-rape case and launched an investigation led by Additional SP Madhuri Verma of the women’s crime unit. Udaipur SP Yogesh Goyal confirmed that three individuals, including one woman, have been detained in connection with the case. A medical examination of the survivor was also conducted as part of the investigation, and the report is awaited, police said.(The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assaul)
