Revealing the reason behind her break, Alice says, “I took a break for almost a year for two reasons. One, I had to focus on my health, and the other, I wanted to do something different — play a character I hadn’t played before and challenge myself creatively. So it felt right to wait for something substantial.” For her, the pause was not about lack of work, but about waiting for the right kind of work.Talking about completing a decade in the industry, Alice shares, “Honestly, I have no complaints. Yes, it’s been ten years and I’ve come a long way, but I feel like I’ve only just begun. There’s so much more to do and explore. I’m really looking forward to the long journey ahead.”
She adds, “I’m a big believer in destiny. Whatever is written for you will happen. Of course, you have to work very hard, but destiny also plays a big role. I’m excited to see what’s written for me and how it unfolds.”‘Reality shows are not real’While reality shows often open doors immediately after they end, Alice didn’t chase that momentum post Bigg Boss. Looking back at her reality show experience, Alice admits it wasn’t easy to process. “I’ve realised that reality shows are not real. A lot of manipulation goes on during editing. Narratives, feelings and emotions are fed to viewers so that they see things in a certain way. I don’t blame the audience at all, because in their place, I would have believed it too.”She elaborates on how selective storytelling can alter perception. “It’s all the magic of endless editing. You may see a person lashing out, but why they are lashing out, what the other person has done, or how much they’ve been instigated — all of that gets edited out. It’s done to portray someone in a certain way, and this is just one small example.”
