MUMBAI: The Bandra magistrate court was evacuated on Thursday morning and thoroughly checked after police received a bomb threat via email. Soon after the threat was reported, teams from the Nirmal Nagar police station and the bomb detection and disposal squad rushed to the court premises and conducted a search. No suspicious object was found during the inspection.
Mumbai Police said they have launched an investigation to trace the source of the threatening email, identify the sender, and ascertain the motive. Police said similar threat emails were received at the Bombay High Court and the Esplanade court in south Mumbai. Both premises were checked by security teams and nothing suspicious was found.
