NEW DELHI: A day after shots were fired at a car carrying a lawyer allegedly associated with jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi near ISBT in Kashmere Gate, Delhi Police have registered a case in connection with the incident.Sources said gangster Naveen Boxer allegedly claimed responsibility for the attack through a social media post purportedly issued by him.
The social media post on the Rahul Fatehpur Naveen Boxer account claimed, “I, Rahul Fatehpur, Naveen Boxer Goripur, and Sunny Yama, take responsibility for today’s attack on Deepak Khatri (lawyer). He acts as an informer and middleman for Lawrence. You should stop arranging extortion deals and bringing back information after jail meetings.”The incident happened around 10.15pm. One of the occupants was shot. Sources said the shooters, from a rival gang, intercepted the car in which a lawyer and his staff were present.At least four rounds were fired. The police began an investigation and the CCTV footage of the incident is also being analysed.
