Mumbai: Powai Police registered an FIR against the former employee of a media company for posting objectionable content on the company’s social media handles and website after being sacked from his job last year. The company, based out of Powai, generates content and creates podcasts for brands and govt schemes. They have 18 staffers. Some of the employees have been given access to the company’s official email ID for their work.On Dec 23, around 2.30 pm, the company found objectionable photos and content uploaded on their handles on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIN, the company’s website and app. Company officials immediately took down the objectionable content. While they were still investigating the source, company officials started receiving phone calls from clients. The clients said they were receiving objectionable emails from the company’s official email ID. The email ID had been logged in from Nagpur. Through an internal inquiry, the company found that an ex-employee had logged in. The 35-year-old had been hired in March 2025 as the company’s lead generation specialist (business and partnership). But his work was not found to be up to the mark and he was sacked after a notice period in September. The company changed the password for the email ID and then approached the Powai Police where an FIR was registered against the ex-employee.
