Mumbai: Devotees will be unable to glimpse the Ganesh idol of Siddhivinayak temple from Jan 7 through Jan 11 owing to the annual ‘sindoor lepan’ ceremony. The idol is fortified by applying vermilion during this spell. In the interim, worshipers can pray to a replica of the idol inside the premises. The main Ganesh moorti in the sanctum sanctorum will be reopened for darshan after 1 pm Jan 12.
