Navi Mumbai: A canal inspector of the water conservation department-Karjat, Vijay Kakde (43), had committed suicide in the Tinvira dam in Alibaug. He was a resident of Pimplebhat village. The victim’s body was found floating in the dam water. The locals had informed the Poynad police. After retrieving the body, the police took the deceased to the civil hospital where an inquest was conducted. Later the body was handed over to his family for the last rites. However, the reason for the extreme step taken by Kakde is unknown. The local police are investigating the same. Poynad police have registered an accidental death. Need help?
