    Navi Mumbai: Rabale police have registered an FIR against a man for allegedly threatening, pressuring and defaming a Returning Officer during the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) election process. The complaint was filed by Kalpana Gode (43), a deputy district collector appointed as Returning Officer for Ghansoli ward.Senior inspector Balkrushna Sawant said the accused, Rajesh Jaiswar, has been booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for obstructing a public servant and using criminal force to deter her from performing official duties. The incident occurred between December 30 and January 2 at a community centre in Sector 7, Ghansoli. The accused, a supporter of a BSP candidate, is absconding.NMMC commissioner Kailas Shinde said the act violated the model code of conduct and threatened the integrity of the election process.
