Navi Mumbai: More than 200 employees of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) who were assigned election duties but failed to attend the mandatory training programmes were served notices and warned of disciplinary action. The absences were recorded during the Belapur division training sessions held at Vishnudas Bhave Theatre in Vashi as part of preparations for the upcoming civic elections.According to the NMMC administration, the first round of notices was issued immediately after a large number of employees remained absent from the January 1 and 2 training. The administration stated that if the employees ignore the notices and continue to stay away from the training, a formal case will be registered against them. Civic officials reiterated that election training is compulsory for all designated staff and that non-attendance will not be treated as a minor lapse. The NMMC signalled a strict approach to ensure trained manpower is available on polling day and to prevent disruptions caused by untrained or missing personnel.
