AMBERNATH: After the BJP on Tuesday ‘welcomed’ Shiv Sena‘s Ambernath vibhag pramukh and former Jewellers Association president Roopsingh Dhal into its old, the Shiv Sena, in a counter-blow on Wednesday inducted BJP’s minority women’s wing president Rosalyn Fernandes along with several hundred of BJP’s women office-bearers.The entry of Dhal into the BJP had happened despite the no-poaching pact agreed upon between the state-level allies after both took each other’s functionaries in the Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency, where Dy CM Eknath Shinde‘s son Shrikant Shinde is the MP. BJP state president Ravindra Chavan is an MLA from Kalyan and is being blamed by the Sena for the poaching that has been happening for the local body elections; Dhal’s induction happened in the presence of Chavan.
On Wednesday, the entry of Fernandes and other BJP members into the Sena took place in the presence of Sena’s Ambernath city president Arvind Walekar. Walekar said, “If BJP tries to take away our workers, we will also respond accordingly.” Fernandes launched an attack on BJP’s local leadership, stating, “The BJP leadership in Ambernath has treated us unfairly. That is why we have joined Sena.”
