Ulhasnagar set for direct Sena-BJP showdown | Thane News

    -

ULHASNAGAR: Ulhasnagar is set to witness a direct contest between Shiv Sena and the BJP in the Ulhasnagar municipal corporation polls, with both parties deciding to part ways locally despite being allies at the state level.Tensions between the two parties have been simmering in Ulhasnagar for weeks and have now culminated in a formal split. Shiv Sena has categorically ruled out an alliance with the BJP for the civic polls, citing local political compulsions. Instead, the party has opted to contest the elections in alliance with local party Team Omie Kalani (TOK), considered a key rival of the BJP in the city, and the Secular Alliance of India (SAI) Party.
