KALYAN: Local train services on the Central Railway were disrupted for nearly an hour on Monday afternoon after a signal failure on the down line near Titwala Railway Station, causing inconvenience to commuters. The incident occurred around 3:32 pm when a point failure led to a signal malfunction on the down line. As a result, several local trains heading from Mumbai towards Titwala and Kasara were halted mid-route. Many passengers, frustrated by the delay, were seen getting down from trains and walking along the railway tracks towards the station. On noticing a large number of commuters on the tracks, railway authorities made repeated announcements inside trains, urging passengers not to walk on the tracks and assuring them that services would resume shortly.According to senior public relations officer Praveen Patil, the technical issue occurred at 3:32 pm and was rectified within about 20 minutes. However, it took an additional 20–25 minutes to fully restore train operations. In total, around four suburban train services were affected due to the disruption.Even after services resumed, delays persisted as trains towards Titwala and Kasara returned late, leading to a cascading impact on the schedule. The disruption, which occurred on a Monday—the first working day of the week—caused significant inconvenience to office-goers returning home during peak hours.

He was rushed to a hospital for treatment, but doctors declared him dead.Chiranjeevi also sustained injuries in the attack.Ajith’s father, Dola Appala Raju, has lodged a murder complaint against Kishore.Ajith’s brother (not named) alleged that the accused, a resident of a neighbouring colony, was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the attack. He further claimed that the dispute over a single run had been resolved earlier after intervention by village elders, but the accused later planned the attack.“… In the match, there was an argument over one run. The argument became heated, and the person who attempted the murder was not a cricket player. He is a resident of Vinayak Nagar. He came in between the argument and used abusive words, which led to a serious argument between both teams. Later, village elders came and settled the issue there itself. After everything, in the evening, they were under the influence of alcohol and planned this attack. He carried a knife in his pocket and came to the Padigadli junction and called Chiranjeevi” the victim’s brother told NDTV.“He started shouting and arguing. Suddenly, he took the knife out of his pocket and stabbed Dola Ajith in the chest. We tried to catch Kishore, but he ran away. “Might go and find somewhere to get a blanket and a pillow and sleep here — very short turnaround,” Turner said during the post-match presentation, as quoted by Pakistan’s Geo Super.Speaking about the match, the Australian all-rounder said the team adjusted to the conditions and performed well in all areas. “Slightly different conditions than the last two games. We did well in all three facets, which is satisfying,” he said. “I was probably going to bowl the first over, but we expected two left-handers at the top. Fair play to them — they changed that.”Turner’s decision to bowl first worked as the spin attack restricted Quetta Gladiators to 166 for 7 in 20 overs. In the chase, Multan reached the target of 167 with four wickets in hand and 15 balls remaining. 'Useless would be an understatement': Cameron Green faces fan fury after another flop show

Kolkata Knight Riders have had a difficult start to IPL 2026, losing their first two matches, and their problems continued against Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens on Monday.Green had another short stay at the crease. He faced two balls in the match on April 6, scoring a boundary off Xavier Bartlett before edging the next delivery to the wicketkeeper. The dismissal led to reactions on social media, with fans questioning his form and his price of Rs 25.20 crore. Some said his performances have not matched expectations and pointed out that he has not been consistent.

“Useless would be an understatement to use for Cameron Green. He showed some glimpses of his potential in 2023, but since then, it’s been an utter waste of time. Australia and the IPL are just wasting everybody’s time and energy by making him play consistently,” wrote a user on X.

There was also discussion about his role in the team. With Green yet to be cleared to bowl by Cricket Australia, some felt his role as a batter alone does not justify the amount spent on him. “Price does not match performance” was a common view, while others said the issue could be about how he is being used in the side. Some users suggested changes to the playing XI, mentioning players like Tim Seifert as possible options and calling for a change in the batting order.Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings shared a point apiece after their Indian Premier League match was called off due to incessant rain and the subsequent wet outfield.Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin questioned KKR’s decision to bat first in a rain-affected match and pointed to the lack of experience in their bowling attack. The weather forecast had already indicated rain around 8 pm IST, and it arrived as expected, stopping the match. By then, KKR had lost two wickets, with Allen and Green dismissed by Bartlett.“When you know it’s going to be a rain-affected game, with an inexperienced bowling attack at your disposal, you choose to bat first. Interesting thought process,” Ashwin wrote on X.

Don’t line up, state has enough LPG stock, say officials | Mumbai News

Mumbai: The supply of petrol, diesel and domestic LPG cylinders in Maharashtra is adequate and there is no shortage, state officials emphasised on Monday. Reiterating civil supplies minister Chhagan Bhujbal’s announcements during the recently concluded legislature session, they said a state-level control room has been set up for complaints over LPG supply, along with a WhatsApp helpline (9769919221), and police protection is being given to LPG vehicles, gas agencies and distribution staff.Officials appealed to the public not to queue up for LPG cylinders and to only book them online to be delivered at home. There are 3.5 crore LPG consumers. Average daily refills since April 3 were 5.8 crore compared to 5.9 crore in Jan, they said. But, there is a 25-day booking restriction period in urban areas to ensure equitable supply. Once an order is placed, the cylinder will be delivered in 3-4 days, officials said. “Maharashtra has LPG stocks of 27,000 tonne, which can last three days. And we have domestic production capability to meet 45-50% of the state’s requirement,” said state rationing controller Chandrakant Dange. For migrant labourers, 5kg refill cylinders are being provided, with around 27,600 supplied per day. Officials reiterated that it is mandatory for citizens and commercial establishments to apply for piped natural gas (PNG) in areas where it is available or where lines are being laid. “In such areas, the supply of LPG will be discontinued from June 30,” said Dange. He said this mainly applies to urban areas and not slum areas located in regions where PNG lines cannot be laid. The state had 42.3 lakh PNG connections till Feb; the number rose by 73,000 last month. The state has issued directions to expedite connections, including assuming deemed permission for pending applications with authorities like BMC and public works and irrigation departments. Also, pipelines can be laid 24 hours. On action against black marketing, the state has seized 21 transport vehicles, filed 53 FIRs and arrested 36 persons. It has seized 3,628 LPG cylinders and 71,565kg of LPG. The seizures are worth Rs 2.4 crore, officials said. Officials said the state govt has asked the Centre to increase its stock of 5kg LPG refills by 25% to provide for migrant labourers and increase its quota of LPG for autos. The state received 3,744 kilolitres of kerosene from the Centre and distribution through fair price shops this week in all districts in the state. Officials said a state-level committee is monitoring the supply and distribution of fuel and LPG and district committees have been set up to ensure there is no disruption.
