    Vasai: Police on Wednesday arrested a 25-year-old barber, Abdul Rehman Shah, for allegedly playing anti-national songs in his shop in Naigaon’s Chinchoti area in Vasai taluka after local residents complained about him.Naigaon police booked him under Section 197 (1) (d) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for publishing false or misleading information that jeopardizes India’s sovereignty, unity, or security. Shah was produced before a local court which remanded him to two-day police custody, said senior police inspector Sanjay Hajare.Abdul, who hails from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, moved to Naigaon a few years ago, said a police officer.Pradeep Mishra, a member of the Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh, claimed that the accused used to play anti-national songs regularly, even after local residents told him not to do so.
