NEW DELHI: Three people, a couple and their 10-year-old daughter, died after a fire broke out on the fifth floor of the DMRC staff quarters in north Delhi’s Majlis Park area on Tuesday morning.The deceased have been identified as Ajay (45), an engineer at DMRC, his wife, Neelam (38), and their daughter, Anvi (10). According to Delhi Fire Services (DFS), a call about a house fire was recieved around 2.39 am. Five firetenders with around 25 firefighters rushed to the spot. The charred bodies of three family members were found at the spot. The fire was doused by 3.30 am.Police said that a call was recieved at Adarsh Nagar police station around 2.39am from the F block of the metro quarters. The-in-house fire-fighting system of the society had worked to contain the fire.Probe is underway to determine the cause of the fire but a preliminary inquiry suggests that a room heater had possibly exploded.
