GURGAON: A 29-year-old delhivery manager was found dead by hanging inside his paying guest accommodation in Sector 38 on Tuesday morning, police said. The deceased, identified as Pratik Pandey, a native of Kolkata working with Delhivery, lived alone in the rented premises.
The incident came to light when a friend raised the alarm after Pandey failed to answer repeated calls. The PG caretaker also noticed that he had not stepped out of his room in the morning, which was unusual. Police reached the spot around 6:45 am and found Pandey hanging inside the locked room. No signs of a struggle were visible, and no suicide note was initially recovered. An officer said the circumstances surrounding Pandey’s death are being investigated, including possible personal or professional stress. Statements of the caretaker and other residents are being recorded. Inquest proceedings were initiated under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and the body was sent for post-mortem before being handed over to his family. Meanwhile, Pandey’s brother lodged a complaint alleging abetment to suicide against a woman. Police have not disclosed the identity of the person named in the complaint, and the matter is under investigation. Sources later said a note was recovered in which Pandey stated he had taken the step on his own. In a separate incident later the same day, a 26-year-old taxi driver, Sandeep, was found hanging at his rented accommodation in the New Palam Vihar area. A native of Ujina in Nuh district, he had been living there for six to seven months. Police are investigating the circumstances of his death.
