Navi Mumbai: A police constable attached to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Navi Mumbai crime branch was suspended by DCP (crime) Sachin Gunjal on Friday after a video clip of him partying and splurging money on dancers at a ladies bar in Koparkhairane surfaced on social media. DCP Gunjal said, “Constable Anil Mandole (50) was suspended for dereliction of duty and irresponsible behaviour that brought disrepute to the police department.” “The video clip in which constable Mandole is seen splurging money at the ladies bar in Koparkhairane is learnt to be about five to six months old. As it surfaced recently, disciplinary action was taken by suspending him on Friday, and a preliminary enquiry was initiated against him. It will be followed by a departmental enquiry,” said police. Meanwhile, in March last year, constable Audumbar Jadhav, who was then attached to Mora Coastal police station, was suspended for partying with an alleged MCOCA accused at the same ladies bar in Koparkhairane. Also, constable Jadhav was present at the ladies bar that was operating beyond the permissible time limit, as per the video clip that went viral on social media. Constable Jadhav was suspended by then DCP (zone-2) Prashant Mohite, who is now newly established DCP (zone-3).
