Maharashtra civic polls: Rs 50L seized from auto in Ulhasnagar an hour after campaigning ends | Thane News


ULHASNAGAR : An hour after campaigning for the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation elections ended Tuesday, police seized about Rs 50 lakh in cash from an autorickshaw near Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk in Camp No. 4. Independent candidate Naresh Gaikwad alleged the money was meant to induce voters. The vehicle was abandoned, the was driver detained, and police are probing the cash’s source and links after occupants fled and a crowd gathered, officials said later.
