Ahead of polls, Kalyan MNS district chief defects to BJP | Thane News

    -

KALYAN: A major political development has stirred the Dombivli political landscape ahead of the upcoming local body elections, dealing a significant blow to the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). Kalyan District President of the MNS and former corporator Prakash Bhoir, along with two other MNS’s former corporators and their hundreds of supporters, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), adding to the political drama in the city. The induction ceremony took place in the presence of Maharashtra BJP President and State Minister Ravindra Chavan. For the past several days, speculation had been rife that Prakash Bhoir would switch over to the BJP. Although Bhoir had recently met MNS Chief Raj Thackeray, at that time he had stated that he would continue to remain in the MNS. However, considering growing pressure from workers in his area and changing political equations ahead of the elections, he ultimately decided to bid farewell to the MNS and join the BJP.
