“Short-handle hai, tujhe pasand hai waisa. Todiyo mat yeh, bahut achha bat hai [It’s a short-handle bat, just the way you like it. Don’t break it, it’s a very good bat],” Pant told Badoni.

Pant joined the franchise ahead of the 2025 season in a record-breaking deal worth ₹27 crore, making him one of the most high-profile signings in IPL history. Over the course of 56 IPL matches, Badoni has scored 963 runs at an average of 26.75 and an impressive strike rate of 138.56, including six half-centuries. Last season proved particularly encouraging for him, as he accumulated 329 runs in 14 matches, striking at nearly 148.
