Navi Mumbai: A c-arm machine is direly needed at the sub district hospital-Panvel but to no avail. The equipment required for the treatment of bone injured persons, mostly accident victims. The need grew in view of the rising mishaps reported on five highways and the Mumbai-Pune expressway.The machine is a mobile medical x-ray device and minimises radiation exposure to patients. Its c-shaped arm connects to the x-ray source and detector providing real-time fluoroscopic x-ray imaging to surgeons during complex procedures. Many times, the victims, who are taken to private hospitals nearby, are unable to afford.
