Maharashtra polls: BJP–Sena clash over credit for PMAY project in Ulhasnagar; leaders trade claims | Thane News

ULHASNAGAR: A fresh tussle broke out in Ulhasnagar on Wednesday between BJP and Shiv Sena over credit for houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), intensifying the ongoing rivalry between the two parties in the Kalyan LS Sabha constituency. The Ulhasnagar civic body has announced an ini-tiative to provide affordable homes for economically weaker sections and has issued a tender for construction of 3,578 hou-ses at an estimated cost of Rs 723 crore, BJP MLA Kumar Ailani said he had pursued the matter of the scheme with govt. Soon af-ter Ailani’s claims, Sena functionaries held a separate press meet saying the BJP MLA was trying to take “undue credit.” Se-na’s Kalyan city chief Rajendra Chaudhary argued the demand for the project was put forth by Sena corporators to MP Shri-kant Shinde, who pursued the matter with state govt.
