Mumbai: An FIR has been registered after a BMC official and an election videographer were allegedly assaulted and obstructed while performing election-related duties ahead of the BMC elections. According to complaint filed by Suresh Janu Rathod (37), a BMC’s junior inspector, the incident occurred on the night of Dec 27 where Rathod was deployed as a nodal officer with the Standing Surveillance Team (SST). Rathod stated that while the videographer Dhiraj Chandrakant Panchal was recording vehicle checks as part of the election commission’s monitoring process, an occupant of a car objected to the videography.
