Yet, the skipper struck an optimistic note at the post-match presentation. “I’ve been batting beautifully in the nets. When the runs have to come, they’ll come. NEW DELHI: The Congress party on Monday expelled former MLA Mohammed Moquim from the party days after he wrote to Sonia Gandhi urging the removal of party president Mallikarjun Kharge on the grounds that “age is not on his side.” Congress cited “anti-party activities” as the reason behind his expulsion, however, it refrained from specifying such acts.“This is for the information of all concerned that AICC has approved the proposal for the expulsion of Sri Md. Moquim from the primary membership of the party, due to anti-party activities,” the notice issued by Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) said.Moquim had written to Sonia, urging her that the party should consider bringing forward “young leaders”, adding that the Grand Old Party was going through a “difficult phase”.“I have written a letter to Sonia Gandhi stating that the party is going through a difficult phase and needs her advice and new leadership… Age is not on AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge’s side… We should bring forward young leaders. I know that Sonia ji and the CWC members will definitely discuss this…. Nuapada by-elections were concerning,” he had said.The 60-year-old received criticism for the letter as OPCC chief Bhakta Das went on to equate his remarks as one aligned with the BJP.“Those who challenge the party leadership should immediately join the BJP,” he said on Sunday.

Addressed to Sonia Gandhi, Moquim’s letter pointed out party’s recent electoral defeats in Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra and Kashmir and blamed a “series of wrong decisions, misguided leadership choices”.“The recent outcomes in Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Kashmir, where our defeats were by staggering margins, are not just electoral setbacks; they reflect a deeper organisational disconnect,” the letter said.“A series of wrong decisions, misguided leadership choices, and the continued concentration of responsibility in the wrong hands have weakened the Party from within. Rather than correcting these errors, we appear to be repeating them and the consequences are now visible to the entire nation,” the letter added.The letter further questioned whether the “responsibilities being entrusted to the right people”.“Painful questions are being raised: Are decisions being made with seriousness? Are responsibilities being entrusted to the right people? Moquim’s past controversies

This was not Moquim’s first brush with controversy. He was suspended on July 15, 2023, for questioning Pattanaik’s leadership, a decision that was later withdrawn on January 23, 2024, ahead of the simultaneous Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Earlier, he had received a show-cause notice for cross-voting in support of NDA presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu in July 2022. The former Barabati–Cuttack MLA, who was elected for the first time and whose seat is now held by his daughter Sofia Firdous, was disqualified from contesting the 2024 elections after being convicted in a state vigilance case on September 29, 2022.

Morgan Stanley has an overweight rating on Adani Power with a target price Rs 185. Analysts said the company expects to achieve 100% tie up for 23.7GW under construction capacity by next year. The company targets to reduce current united capacity from 10% to 3-4%. Analysts said that at current tariffs, they expect earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) to be Rs 3.7/unit for new bids. They said the company’s current capex is between Rs 95-100 million/MW, compared to peers’ Rs 150 million/MW due to advance equipment ordering and faster execution.CLSA maintained outperform rating on Dixon Technologies with the target price at Rs 18,800. Analysts said that the stock corrected on concerns around FY27 earnings per share (EPS). And the company’s joint venture with Vivo is pending, which is expected to contribute 20 million units to smartphone volumes. Dixon is yet to secure approvals for establishing components facilities under the govt’s Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS). And low visibility on medium-term growth prospects is a concern. Even with significant delays in Vivo’s operations, the stock trades at 44x multiple, they said.HSBC maintains buy on Tata Steel with the target price at Rs 215. Analysts said the restart of India’s growth capex is a positive for the steel industry and the company. The company’s multiple India expansion projects are also positives for the stock. They said that the capex details should come by March 2026. Near-term earnings pressure remains but safeguard duty should come in soon.Jefferies maintained its buy rating on BPCL with the target price raised from Rs 430 to Rs 435. The company is a play on refining strength, favourable valuation. Its earnings outlook remains strong with crude below $70/bbl, and there’s oversupply in the market. They also said that on a year-to-date basis in FY26, refining margins have surged 51%. Marketing margins above normative level, while LPG compensation is expected to boost profits. Analysts reiterated ‘buy’ on refining strength and supportive margins.Citigroup has a buy recommendation on IGL with the target price at Rs 260. The fans across the globe are once again waiting for the IPL mini auction with the same energy and are gearing up to witness another round of intense bidding wars for some of the most sought-after cricketers in the world.

Unlike the mega auction, the mini auction is used by the teams not as a rebuild but a correction window. Teams usually use the mini auction to fix what went wrong in the previous season or to further bolster their already settled squads. Time and again, the mini auction has sprung numerous surprises and the upcoming auction also promises to be an exciting one as players from around the world will be up for grabs.

IPL Auction 2026 date, time and venue:

The highly-awaited auction is scheduled to take place on 16 December 2025. The venue for the auction is Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

This will be the third year in a row that the IPL auction is being held outside India. In 2024, the auction was held in Dubai before the event took place in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah in 2025.

Maximum Squad Size Rules

Each IPL franchise is permitted to build a squad of up to 25 players, while the minimum number of players a team must maintain on its roster is 18.

Overseas Players Limit

While an IPL team is allowed to have as many as 25 players on its roster, it can only have a maximum of 8 overseas players.

Right To Match (RTM) Rule – Is It Available in IPL auction 2026?

The Right To Match (RTM) card has been traditionally used in mega auctions and it is not to be used in the upcoming mini auction.

Unsold Players Rule and accelerated rounds:

If a player goes unsold in the auction, he can still find a buyer in the accelerated rounds that happens towards the end of the event. The accelerated phase takes place based on the number of slots remaining and the purse left.

Before the accelerated phase, all the 10 teams will submit a list of the remaining players. After the names are submitted, those players will be introduced into the auction for the accelerated round for bidding. Players who have not been shortlisted will not go under the hammer.

Injury Replacement Rules Post-Auction:

• According to the present rules, the IPL teams can sign a replacement player until their 12th league match. Earlier, the teams were only allowed to do it until their 7th league match.
• A team can replace a player only if he suffers a season-ending injury or illness.
• The replacement player must already be listed in the Registered Available Player Pool (RAPP) for that season.

Xu Bo, a 48-year-old Chinese billionaire and founder of online gaming company Duoyi, has fathered more than 100 US-born children through surrogacy agencies and reportedly hopes they will one day marry Elon Musk’s children to create a sprawling family dynasty, according to social-media posts verified by the Wall Street Journal.Xu, who calls himself “China’s first father,” publicly stated he intended to sire at least “50 high-quality sons.” Duoyi later posted on social media that he had produced over 100 children via US surrogacy.The story ignited on Chinese social media after Xu’s ex-girlfriend, Tang Jing, claimed he had fathered more than 300 children, 11 of whom she said she had raised for years. “That number might even be undercounted, but it’s certainly not exaggerated,” said Tang Jing, Xu’s ex, in a post Nov. 15, according to the India Times.The pair are now engaged in a custody battle over two daughters they share, with Xu claiming his ex owes him tens of crores in expenses he paid over the years and declining to challenge her posts about his hundreds of children.In a video posted in 2022 by an account linked to Xu, footage showed dozens of young boys in a mansion. As the camera panned, the boys leapt from their chairs and rushed towards the cameraman, shouting “Daddy!” in Chinese. “Imagine a bunch of babies rushing towards you—how does that feel?” reads the caption on the video, according to the outlet. “Take a look. Besides your loved one, what’s cuter than children?”A representative for Duoyi told the Journal that “much of what you described is untrue.” The representative, who refused to give their name, did not respond when asked for specifics.Xu’s quest to build a family dynasty was reportedly inspired by Musk, who has been rumoured to offer friends and family sperm in an effort to build his bloodline—a claim Musk has denied. On Weibo, Xu posted fantasies of his offspring one day marrying Musk’s children, according to the Journal.In the summer of 2023, a judge in California handled petitions from Xu to gain parental rights for four unborn children, as well as at least eight other children he had paid for through surrogates. The judge immediately called a confidential hearing, and Xu appeared over video. He told the judge he hoped to sire 20 or more US-born children—boys specifically because they are superior—to one day take over his business. The judge rejected his petition for parental rights, leaving the unborn children in legal limbo and exposing an industry of surrogacy companies helping wealthy Chinese businessmen have American-born children.Many of his children have reportedly lived in a home in Irvine, Calif., and been raised by nannies. Xu told the judge he had not met them yet because work had been busy but said he planned to bring them to China soon.
