TV actor on the run after house help’s murder nabbed in Vizag | Mumbai News

Mira Bhayandar: With the arrest of Ashish Meshram, a small-time TV serial actor, from a railway station in Visakhapatnam, the Mira Road police have cracked the murder case of a househelp who was stabbed by the accused inside the third floor flat of Chandresh Accord housing society. Ashish had allegedly stabbed the 37-year-old househelp, Suman Kamble, on the neck, chest and stomach on Wednesday night, before fleeing. The Mira Road police had dispatched teams to trace and arrest him after his identity was revealed as the prime suspect. Once the accused is brought to the police station, he would be thoroughly interrogated. Senior officials at the Mira Road police station said his entry and exit to the society was quick which points to the crime being “a premeditated move”. The officials, however, said the actual sequence of events would unfold once the accused, currently on transit remand, arrives in city by weekend. Police also confirmed that the accused had demanded sexual favours from the deceased in the past which had been repeatedly turned down. Victim Kamble is survived by her husband and her four children who live in Kashimira area of Mira Road. While the husband is a cobbler, the elder son works for a private firm. Suman would support her family by working in 8-9 households as a domestic help. She had been working at Meshram’s house for the last three years.Earlier, it was only Meshram’s elder brother who stayed in the flat where the murder took place, but around a year and a half ago, the accused also moved in.As per the FIR, Meshram had called up Kamble’s second son, who is also the complainant in the case, in January, and threatened to kill Kamble if she did not continue working at his flat or if she turned down his sexual advances. This is when the son confronted his mother. Kamble eventually opened up about her ordeal and told her family that she had stopped working at Meshram’s house as he had been seeking sexual favours. On hearing this, Kamble’s son got furious and went looking for Meshram but did not find him at the flat. After a few days, when the son spotted Meshram in Mira Road, he thrashed Meshram and warned him to keep his distance from his mother. Later, however, Meshram’s older brother assured Kamble that his brother was not living with him anymore and that she should resume work at the house. On Wednesday night, when Kamble visited the flat for work, Meshram entered the flat and allegedly murdered her.

Rajpal Yadav: Akshay Kumar reacts to Rajpal Yadav’s Rs 9 crore debt case: ‘I told him don’t produce films’ |

Rajpal Yadav has been in the news after he was sent to Tihar jail in Rs 9 crore debt case. The actor is now out on bail while the matter is still in court. The actor will be seen next in ‘Bhooth Bangla’ alongside Akshay Kumar. Rajpal has even been promoting the film with Akshay and director Priyadarshan. In a recent interview, Akshay has reacted to Rajpal’s case while recalling an advice given to him by the late Asrani. For those not in the know, Asrani passed away in October last year and his last two films were with Akshay and Priyadarshan. The late actor will also be seen in ‘Bhooth Bangla’. Akshay recalled that Asrani had once advised him to not produce films. The ‘Khiladi’ actor said in an interview with Screen, “I have done a lot of films with him. In his last days, he shared a couple of things from his life with me. He spoke about the time he faced the biggest stress of his life, he had told me, never produce a film. He said, ‘Akshay, don’t ever produce a film, it was the biggest mistake of my life when I put in my own money. When you produce a film with someone else’s money, it’s fine, the risk and profit is their’s, when you think of earning more for yourself by putting in your money, it never sits well.’ He had produced a film and faced huge losses. It was a good film, but it didn’t work. He said he lost his life savings because of that. So he told me never to produce by putting in your own money.”

I told him, ‘don’t produce films’. We are actors and producers know how to produce a film, so you should not try to be a producer when you don’t know the trick. If you are an actor, you should stay an actor. Do not think of making money hurriedly through shortcuts. I hope Rajpal comes out of this situation completely. What an actor he is! When people give 100 percent, he delivers 120-140 percent. It is so much fun working with him. Our banter comes so naturally that sometimes the line is not even written in the script, and when we make it and show it to him (Priyadarshan), he likes it.”

Director Priyadarshan who was also a part of this interview added, “I have done 98 films, never produced a film. Most of the successful directors immediately produce their own film. I do a lot of physical comedy with Rajpal. In Bhoot Bangla, Akshay and Rajpal are like Tom and Jerry.”

In a video shared on social media, he explained that there may have been a misunderstanding regarding the scene. He said, “Dhurandhar ke pure parivar ke taraf se aapko bohot dhanyawaad ke aapne hamari film ko itna pyaar diya. Haal hi mein mujhe pataa chala hai ke kuch logon ko iss baat se takleef pahunchi hai ke Guru Govind ke dasam granth se kuch lines bolte waqt maine cigarette smoke ki hai aur isse un logon ko takleef pahunchi hai. Main aapko batana chahta hu ke yeh bilkul sahi nahi hai. Thodi galat faimi hai kyunki mujhe pura yakeen hai iss scene ke daruan aur bolte huye, Aditya Dhar ji ne joh ki mujhse zyada dhyaan rakhte hai in sab cheezon ka. Unhone kahaa tha mujhse ke yeh line bolte waqt aap cigarette bujha dijiyega aur naahi screen mein dhuaan dikhaaye dega aur naahi aapke haath mein cigarette hogi kyunki yeh hamare liye paak aur Pavitra hai. Maine bakaayda cigarette bujha diya tha aur naahi mere munh se dhuaan hai aur naahi pure scene mein cigarette ka naam o nishaan hai. (On behalf of the entire Dhurandhar team, I sincerely thank you for giving our film so much love. Recently, I came to know that some people were hurt by the perception that I was smoking a cigarette while reciting lines from Guru Gobind Singh’s Dasam Granth. I want to clarify that this is absolutely not true. There seems to be a misunderstanding because I am certain that during this scene, while delivering those lines, Aditya Dhar—who is even more mindful about such matters than I am—had clearly instructed me to put out the cigarette. He ensured that there would be no smoke visible on screen and that I would not be holding a cigarette while reciting those lines, as they are sacred and pure for u. I had properly extinguished the cigarette, and there is no smoke coming from my mouth, nor is there any trace of a cigarette in the entire scene).”

Sandeep Gadoli encounter case: All accused acquitted | Mumbai News

Gangster Sandeep Gadoli encounter (File Photo)

MUMBAI: A Mumbai sessions court on Friday acquitted members of the Gurgaon Police and their civilian accomplices for the 2016 fake encounter of Haryana gangster Sandeep Gadoli in a Mumbai hotel. The court did not find evidence that the incident, originally reported by police as a retaliatory shootout in self-defence, was actually a premeditated contract killing orchestrated by a rival gang leader and carried out by rogue officers. The prosecution had argued that the “encounter” was a staged operation. On Feb 7, 2016, a police team led by Sub-Inspector Pradyumn Yadav entered Room 107 of the Airport Metro Hotel in Andheri. While the police claimed Gadoli opened fire first, the police cited forensic evidence and ballistic reports and alleged that Gadoli was unarmed and lying on his bed when he was shot. Investigators found that the police later planted a country-made pistol near the body and fired shots into the hotel walls to simulate a crossfire. The allegedly conspiracy involved a “honey trap” led by Divya Pahuja, who accompanied Gadoli on his trip to Mumbai. Divya allegedly provided constant location updates to her mother, Sonia Pahuja, who acted as a middleman. Phone transcripts revealed the use of medical code words to signal the hit team. Sonia allegedly instructed Divya to say “Main thik hu” (I am fine) to indicate Gadoli was alone, and “Main dawai leke aayi hu” (I have taken the medicine) to signal that he was with her and the team should move in.The motive behind the killing was allegedly rooted in a gang war for supremacy in Gurgaon. Binder Gujjar, a rival criminal, masterminded the hit from jail to eliminate Gadoli, whom he blamed for the death of his driver. Binder’s brother, Manoj Gujjar, served as the primary link between the incarcerated mastermind, the Pahuja family, and the police team. He was allegedly involved with Sonia in a romantic relationship. Call Detail Records (CDR) allegedly confirmed constant communication between the police and the Gujjar family leading up to the shooting. While Divya Pahuja was killed in early 2024 following her release on bail, the court acquitted the remaining accused—including PSI Pradyumn Yadav, several constables, and Sonia Pahuja.

‘Can’t stand in queues like general public’: Karnataka Congress MLA demands free IPL tickets; Speaker orders VIP passes | India News

NEW DELHI: With the IPL 2026 opener around the corner, Congress MLA Kashappanavar Vijayananda Shivashankarappa on Thursday kicked up a row, saying legislators were being forced to stand in queues or buy tickets at inflated rates despite being “entitled” to passes. He also alleged large-scale black marketing by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), even as the assembly speaker stepped in, directing the government to ensure VIP tickets for MLAs.“There is an IPL match on the 28th, but KSCA has not provided tickets to MLAs, ministers or their families. We can’t go and stand in queues like the general public. Last time, we were made to stand in line and then sent to a common gallery,” he told ANI, flagging both access and “protocol” concerns.Accusing the association of profiting from demand, the MLA claimed tickets worth Rs 5,000 were being sold for as much as Rs 35,000 in the black market. “They are taking all facilities from the government, including security, but not respecting elected representatives. Tickets are being sold through online channels and middlemen,” he alleged. The controversy gained traction in the assembly, where members across party lines complained of “disrespect” by KSCA. Acting on the concerns, speaker UT Khader directed the state government to ensure that each MLA is provided at least four VIP tickets for matches at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The speaker noted that MLAs often face difficulties at entry points, including having to stand in queues and not being recognised by staff, which adds to the sense of indignity. He also asked the government to ensure proper seating arrangements for legislators and their families.Deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar said he would immediately speak to KSCA officials and update the House, asserting that MLAs have the right to seek such facilities. The row comes just days before IPL 2026 begins on March 28 in Bengaluru, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru set to host Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
