‘They cannot have a nuclear weapon’: US pushes 15-point plan to end Iran war, sent via Pakistan

'They cannot have a nuclear weapon': US pushes 15-point plan to end Iran war, sent via Pakistan

US president Donald Trump has shared a 15-point proposal with Iran aimed at ending the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, saying that it “all starts with, they cannot have a nuclear weapon,” signalling a renewed diplomatic push even as military operations continue, according to a report by the NYT citing officials privy to the matter. The plan, conveyed through Pakistan, outlines key issues including Iran’s ballistic missile and nuclear programmes, as Washington seeks an “offramp” from a war now in its fourth week that has widened to involve multiple countries. Israel’s Channel 12 said that Trump was proposing a one-month ceasefire during which the sides would discuss a proposal that would include handing over Iran’s enriched uranium and banning further enrichment. The New York Times said it had not reviewed the document but was told it also addresses maritime security concerns. Since the conflict began on February 28, Iran has effectively restricted Western shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, disrupting global oil and gas supplies and driving up prices.

Trump on war

The proposal also tends to involve that Iran would ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.Following adherence to the plan, Iran in turn would see an end to all sanctions, which have been in place in various forms for years, the Israeli report said, according to AFP. Iran would also receive assistance in developing civil nuclear energy at Bushehr, a key site which dates from before the 1979 Islamic revolution. However, it remains unclear how widely the proposal has been circulated within Iran’s leadership or whether Tehran is willing to engage on its basis. There is also no clarity on whether Israel supports the initiative.Despite the diplomatic outreach, hostilities show no immediate signs of easing. Israeli officials have indicated that military operations could continue for weeks. Acknowledging parallel diplomatic efforts, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “As President Trump and his negotiators explore this newfound possibility of diplomacy, Operation Epic Fury continues unabated to achieve the military objectives laid out by the commander in chief and the Pentagon.Pakistan and its army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, have been positioning themselves as possible intermediaries, leveraging reported ties with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps to facilitate communication. Officials said Egypt and Turkey are also encouraging Tehran to engage constructively.Munir has reached out to Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, proposing that Pakistan host talks between the two sides, the report says. Supporting the initiative, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said his country “fully supports ongoing efforts to pursue dialogue to end” the conflict. “Subject to concurrence by the US and Iran, Pakistan stands ready and honoured to be the host to facilitate meaningful and conclusive talks for a comprehensive settlement of the ongoing conflict,” he said in a social media post.Iran’s ability to respond quickly remains uncertain. Senior officials are reportedly facing communication challenges and security concerns, fearing targeted strikes if they convene in person. Early in the conflict, Israeli strikes killed several top Iranian leaders, including supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, creating uncertainty over decision-making authority in Tehran. While the US and Israel have targeted Iran’s missile infrastructure and nuclear facilities, Iran continues to launch strikes against Israel and neighbouring countries. It is also believed to retain significant stockpiles of highly enriched uranium. The latest diplomatic push suggests Washington may be open, at least for now, to allowing Iran’s current regime to remain in place in a weakened form, even as earlier positions on regime change appeared to fluctuate.

ITC, Tata Power & more: Top stocks to watch for on March 25, 2026

ITC, Tata Power & more: Top stocks to watch for on March 25, 2026

Morgan Stanley initiated its coverage on Fractal Analytics with the target price at Rs 946. Analysts said they see Fractal Analytics as a challenger in the tech services space. With its strong positioning in data and analytics (a segment growing faster than overall IT services spend), and its platform-centric approach to delivering agentic AI services, expect its revenue growth to continue surpassing that of industry. They also expect gross margin improvement, alongside operating leverage across other items, to lift earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) margins to 15% and narrow the gap with peers.UBS has a buy rating on ITC with the target price at Rs 395. Analysts said ITC has implemented price hikes across its cigarette portfolio following additional excise duties effective Feb 1 this year. It has adopted a three-pronged pricing strategy to protect volumes. Overall, the company has ensured a same-price option across all sensitive variants that should largely limit volume impact (barring trade destocking). But this pricing strategy leads to mid-single digit decline in net realisable value. Nonetheless, ITC is likely to exceed the bearish consensus expectations for FY27.Motilal Oswal Securities has a buy on Tata Power with the target price at Rs 455. Analysts said the company’s finalisation of the supplemental power purchase agreement (SPPA) with Gujarat is a significant positive development, addressing the viability challenges of the Mundra plant. If SPPA is adopted by all states, losses at Mundra are likely to reduce by 75% from current Rs 1,700-1,800 crore per annum. This would lead to a 4.5-5.5% upward earnings revision to our FY27/28 net profit estimates. Beyond Mundra, the company continued strong performance in the Odisha and Delhi distribution businesses, as well as the rooftop solar segment, along with backward integration through a planned 10GW ingot/wafer manufacturing capacity, emerging distribution opportunities, and an increased focus on expanding its own renewable energy capacity remain key growth drivers and catalysts for the company.Nuvama has a reduce rating on Coal India with the target price at Rs 384. Analysts said Coal India’s narrative of higher volume and e-auction prices, amid higher global coal prices, may not materialise due to excess domestic supply, competition and relatively lower demand. They expect blended e-auction prices to be range bound though volumes could be higher. Analysts are yet to see a volume growth in FY26 and a 4% volume compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) over FY26–FY28 is at risk amid higher volume from captive miners. Wage revision for non-executives is due from July ‘26 and the company may not be able to pass on the same. Earnings are likely to be muted over FY26–FY28.Kotak Institutional Equities has a reduce rating on Power Grid Corp with the target price at Rs 300. Analysts said the company has raised its capex and capitalization guidance for FY26 to Rs 35,000 crore and Rs 25,000 crore, respectively, while reiterating the guidance for FY27-28. Improved capitalization is largely on the back of the resolution of right of way issues. The company further highlighted CEA’s latest estimate for transmission capex of Rs 7.9 lakh crore for non-fossil fuel generation capacities by FY36, with potentially incremental opportunities from global undersea projects and Brahmaputra basin. The company’s management is accordingly targeting Rs 40,000 crore/Rs 35,000 crore of average annual capex/capitalization over FY29-FY36. A longer growth runway is positive, however, valuations at 16X of price-to-earnings are saturated.(Disclaimer: Recommendations and views on the stock market, other asset classes or personal finance management tips given by experts are their own. Middle East tensions to escalate? Saudi, UAE take steps to join US-Israel vs Iran war- Report

With the war entering its 25th day of tensions in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have reportedly taken tentative steps that could draw them closer to the Iran conflict, pointing to a potential escalation in the region.According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, Saudi Arabia has agreed to grant the US military access to King Fahd Air Base — a notable shift after previously saying its territory would not be used for strikes against Iran.

The report also said the UAE has moved against Iranian-linked assets, shutting down an Iranian-owned hospital and club, a step seen as curbing support networks tied to Tehran.Separately, videos cited by the newspaper appeared to show missiles used in attacks on Iran being launched from Bahrain, suggesting a broader regional footprint in the conflict. The US military, however, declined to comment on whether it is receiving assistance from regional partners.Markets reacted swiftly, with crude oil prices inching higher while US stock-index futures gave up earlier gains. The moves by Washington’s Gulf allies signal growing frustration with Iran, which has retaliated against US and Israeli strikes by targeting sites across neighbouring countries. Israel’s recent attack on an Iranian gas field triggered counterstrikes by Tehran on energy infrastructure across the Middle East.US President Donald Trump has since rebuked Israel, which later said it would avoid targeting energy facilities. Trump also indicated he was holding off on striking Iran’s energy sector for five days, citing “major points of agreement” with Tehran.Amid the tensions, Axios reported that US envoy Steve Witkoff was in talks with Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf. Ghalibaf denied any negotiations, while Iranian state media said Washington had attempted indirect outreach in recent days but received no response from Tehran.

3 LSG players who could struggle in IPL 2026

The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is just around the corner, as the teams gear up for the final lap before the tournament starts on March 28, Saturday. Reigning champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will be facing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the first game of the rich cash league.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are one of the newest teams in the IPL. LSG was introduced in 2022, and only two times in their history. These appearances occurred consecutively in their first two seasons, 2022 and 2023. Since then, they have failed to qualify in the top 4 of the tournament.

LSG have the highest-paid player in IPL history; they bought Rishabh Pant ahead of IPL 2025 for a whopping price of INR 27 crore. However, despite a good batting lineup, they could not qualify for the knockout stages and finished 7th in the league table with just 12 points.

Your daily dose of cricket!

next

This season, they do not have the firepower in their bowling to go through the next round. In this article, we find out the players who are LSG’s biggest burden in IPL 2026.

3 players who are LSG’s biggest burden in IPL 2026

Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami has been one of the finest bowlers in world cricket. However, the pacer has not been as effective in T20s as he is in ODIs and Test matches. He has also been out of the India National Cricket Team for some time now. Shami bowled well in the Ranji Trophy; his form in T20s is a concern.

Shami has been traded from Sunrisers Hyderabad for the IPL 2026 season. The deal was to be an all-cash trade worth INR 10 crore. Mohammed Shami’s injury will also be a concern for the LSG side, as he has suffered from injuries in recent times. Shami is the only experienced Indian pacer in the franchise he will have a huge responsibility on his back.

Nicholas Pooran

Nicholas Pooran has retired from international cricket and only plays franchise cricket across the world. The West Indies batter was excellent last season and almost single-handedly won games for the franchise. He scored 524 runs in 14 matches. He maintained a remarkable strike rate of 196.25 and an average of 43.67.

Now, Pooran, being out of the international games, his flow from last year might also have disappeared. He might have drained all his energy playing in different leagues and will not be able to perform like last year. If Pooran falters, it would be a huge setback for the franchise.

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant has been doing his practice since recovering from the injury. The Southpaw was a flop last season as monetary pressure was on his back. He failed to deliver for the side as a captain and as a batter as well.

Though Pant scored a hundred in the last match of IPL against RCB, he has not played T20 cricket much, as he is not a part of India’s T20 setup or a regular starter in the ODI setup as well. Rishabh Pant’s 27 crore pressure will be there, and his form is going to be a concern for LSG this season as well.

Beyond cricket: How Virat Kohli powered RCB’s rise on and off the field

At the heart of that rise stands Virat Kohli, whose association with the team since 2008 has defined its identity.Kohli’s loyalty to the franchise, having never represented another IPL team, has made him synonymous with RCB. His intensity, aggression and in-your-face approach have kept fans emotionally invested, turning RCB matches into must-watch events. RCB’s big changes ahead of IPL: New rules, tribute & squad update

While his tenure as captain did not yield an IPL title, Kohli’s individual brilliance and consistency ensured RCB remained relevant in the league’s competitive landscape. His presence alone added credibility and star power, helping the franchise attract global attention and commercial interest. The brand’s growth has also been strengthened by its women’s team. The presence of global stars such as Ellyse Perry and Smriti Mandhana has further enhanced RCB’s appeal, contributing to a broader fan base. For example, during the IPL 2025 final against Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, fans filled the stands wearing Virat Kohli’s jersey. With Kohli in their ranks, even away games feel like home for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, as they continue to enjoy massive support wherever they play. Success in the Women’s Premier League has only added to that momentum, reinforcing the franchise’s image as a multi-dimensional sporting brand.Off the field, RCB have been equally proactive in building a lifestyle identity. Initiatives such as the RCB Bar and Cafe in Bengaluru keep the franchise connected with fans year-round. Designed with a cricketing theme, the space blends sport and leisure, offering a unique experience that extends beyond match days. The franchise has also tapped into the growing fitness culture, an area closely associated with Kohli himself. Through its platform “Hustle by RCB,” the team offers structured fitness and nutrition programs, allowing fans to engage with the brand in a more personal and aspirational way. The initiative reflects RCB’s intent to position itself not just as a cricket team but as a lifestyle ecosystem. As defending champions heading into the 2026 season, RCB’s on-field success now complements its off-field strength. With Kohli still central to its narrative and a growing portfolio of fan engagement initiatives, the franchise continues to set benchmarks in how a sports team can evolve into a global brand.

The tribute aims to create a lasting space for remembrance within the venue that witnessed both joy and tragedy. In a further gesture, 11 seats inside the stadium will be permanently reserved in memory of those who lost their lives. These seats will not be sold for any matches, including international fixtures. The seats are expected to be located together in a premier stand, allowing the area to be cordoned off as a mark of respect. On match day, Royal Challengers Bengaluru will also lead tributes before the start of play. The memorial plaque will be a point of remembrance, akin to the Hillsborough Memorial at Anfield Stadium, which commemorates the 97 Liverpool fans who died following a crush during the FA Cup semifinal on April 15, 1989, at Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield.Confirming KSCA’s plans, president Venkatesh Prasad told TOI, “It is painful to even think about the tragic incident. But we have been discussing the memorial for a while with the managing committee and other major stakeholders and collectively felt it was important to honour the memory of the 11 people. We don’t want to rekindle any pain; instead, remember them. That’s why we decided to place an epitaph of the cricket fans whose lives were cut short tragically.” On the seats being marked, Prasad refused to divulge information and said, “It’s a joint decision between the KSCA and the franchise since they are an integral part of the Chinnaswamy Stadium.”

Would you attend a match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium now knowing it honors the victims?

RCB CEO Rajesh Menon remained unavailable for comment. As competitive cricket returns to the Chinnaswamy Stadium, the tributes ensure the memories of those who lost their lives remain etched into the fabric of the venue they had gathered to celebrate in.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will begin their IPL 2026 campaign on March 28 against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). SRH underwent a major transformation in 2024 when Pat Cummins took over as captain, bringing an aggressive approach to the team. The change paid off as SRH reached the IPL 2024 final after six years, although they lost to KKR. However, the runners-up of IPL 2024 kept the same attacking approach in 2025 but it didn’t resulted in their favor and they were knocked in league stage itself on 6th position.Sunrisers Hyderabad had a productive auction ahead of IPL 2026. They entered the mini-auction with a purse of Rs 25.50 crore and had 10 slots to fill after retaining their core squad. New Signings: Liam Livingstone, Salil Arora, Shivam Mavi, Sakib Hussain, Onkar Tarmale, Shivang Kumar, Amit Kumar, Praful Hinge, Krains FuletraRetained Players: Pat Cummins (c), Heinrich Klaasen, Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ishan Kishan, Harshal Patel, Jaydev Unadkat, Brydon Carse, Eshan Malinga, Kamindu Mendis, Zeeshan Ansari, Harsh Dubey, Aniket Verma, R. Notably, Sunrisers Hyderabad was hit by an injury of Jack Edwards signed for Rs 3 crore in IPL 2026 mini auction. SRH have named England pacer David Payne as his replacement. Payne has been signed for Rs 1.5 crore. However the absence of Pat Cummins in the season opener will be a dent for SRH. Here is the strongest predicted Playing XI of SRH ahead of IPL 2026:Travis Head: The explosive opener will retain his spot at the top. Despite a modest T20 World Cup 2026 where he scored 111 runs in four innings concluded with Australia’s first-ever group-stage elimination from the tournament., Head remains a crucial player for SRH.Abhishek Sharma: Abhishek had a disappointing T20 World Cup 2026, registering three ducks. However, as the No.1 ranked T20I batter, he will be eager to bounce back strongly this season. Notably he bounced back in the final of T20 World Cup 2026 with a fifty and management will bank on him to maintain the comeback. Ishan Kishan (C): Ishan Kishan had an outstanding T20 World Cup 2026, scoring 317 runs in nine matches at a strike rate of 193.29. He will serve as interim captain in the absence of Pat Cummins for the initial matches.Heinrich Klaasen (WK): Klaasen continues to be the backbone of SRH’s middle order. After stepping away from international cricket, he has focused on T20 leagues, making him a key asset. As Ishan will lead SRH, Klaasen will be handed over with wicket-keeping duites. Nitish Kumar Reddy: A vital all-rounder for SRH, earned emerging player of the award in IPL 2024. Nitish provides balance to the team despite limited recent international apperances in recent months. Liam Livingstone: SRH’s biggest buy of IPL 2026 mini-auction at Rs 13 crore, was in the winning campaign of RCB last year, however he struggled and will aim to reaffirm dominance in 2026 with Hyderabad.Aniket Verma: Aniket Verma was a breakout star in IPL 2025, scoring 236 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 166.20. The uncapped youngster will continue to play a key role in the middle order.Harsh Dubey: A left-arm orthodox spinner and handy all-rounder, Dubey was retained after impressing as an injury replacement in 2025. He will support the spin department.Harshal Patel: In the IPL 2025 season, Harshal Patel played for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) after securing Rs 8 crore at the mega auction. He finished as the team’s joint-highest wicket-taker alongside captain Pat Cummins, with both claiming 16 wickets. In Cummins’ absence, he is expected to lead the pace attack.Eshan Malinga: Eshan Malinga has received clearance from Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) for IPL 2026.In his debut IPL season last year he picked 13 wickets in 7 matches, with Cummins unavailable initially, his role becomes even more important.Jaydev Unadkat: Jaydev Unadkat has taken 110 wickets in 112 matches over his extensive IPL career spanning 16 years and his experience will be crucial in the pace unit, especially in the absence of Cummins.Impact Player: Zeeshan AnsariAfter Rashid Khan’s departure in 2022, Zeeshan Ansari has emerged as a key spinner for SRH. He is likely to be used as an Impact Player, providing control and wicket-taking ability in the middle overs.
