Ulhasnagar: The Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) has suspended sanitation inspector Naresh Parmar for violating the Model Code of Conduct during the ongoing civic election period. The action was taken after Parmar was found displaying his photograph with a political leader on a BJP-linked hoarding and using the same image as his WhatsApp status. UMC commissioner Manisha Awhale ordered the suspension on Friday following a preliminary inquiry, which concluded that the act amounted to political endorsement by a government servant. UMC spokesperson Ajay Sable confirmed that Parmar has been suspended with immediate effect for breaching election norms.
