Navi Mumbai: A forest guard deployed at the Teenvira dam area was killed in a mishap after his bike accidentally fell into a pit dug upon the Revas-Reddi road stretch in Alibaug on Friday night. The victim Suraj Sarange (30), riding his bike after duty, was returning home when the mishap was reported. He lost balance and died on the spot.The contractor had allegedly not put any safety barricade and other road signs resulting motorists to be inconvenienced on the road stretch. However, after reports of the mishap, safety signs surfaced. The victim was a resident of Survhe village in Murud taluka. Sarange had become a father of twins a few days ago.
