AIFF general body to decide on bids after thorough evaluation | Goa News

Indian Super League (ISL) clubs will get a share of the revenue only after the commercial partner recovers the investment

Panaji: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has asked accounting firm KPMG to “prepare comprehensive comparison tables evaluating the feasibility and key aspects of the two bids” for the Indian Super League (ISL) and Federation Cup, the two most important domestic men’s football competitions.According to sources, purely on numbers, AIFF is in favour of Genius Sports’ bid that totals approximately ₹2,130 crore for commercial rights of the two competitions, for the next 20 years. The London-headquartered company will offer $7 million or Rs 64.4 crore annually in the first year with 5% annual increment. The federation is guaranteed of approx. ₹12.4 crore annually in “administrative fees” if Genius gets the nod.The second bid of ₹36.6 crore is from FanCode, the federation’s marketing partners for ISL this season.“The executive committee members were happy with the three bids (including one from Capri Sports for women’s football competitions) and we’ve informed them that it’s better to send it to the general body for approval,” AIFF deputy secretary general M Satyanarayantold TOI. “Since this is an important matter, we want the (general body) members to have the final say.”As per AIFF Constitution, any arrangement for a period longer than four years and/or arrangement exceeding amount of Rs. 5 crore “must be approved at an AGM/SGM by at least 75% of members present and eligible to vote.”“The ISL clubs wanted to speak with the bidders and we are more than happy to allow that, to ensure greater clarity and transparency in the process. Whatever queries the clubs have will be addressed directly by the bidders,” said Satyanarayan.A day prior to the executive committee meeting, ISL clubs had urged AIFF not to take any “binding decision” on the new long-term commercial rights holder. The clubs cited lack of meaningful opportunity to evaluate the bidders since the Request for Quotations (RFQ) document was shared with them just 12 hours prior to the bids being opened.Club officials have a bitter-sweet feeling of the bids, given that they will get a share of the revenue only after the commercial partner recovers the investment“If Genius Sports has bid Rs 64 crore, 20% of this amount will straightway go to AIFF as administrative fees. The rest is left for Genius to spend on commercialising the league. Once revenue starts coming in, the model states that Genius can recoup their investment first (of Rs 64 crore), and post that, whatever is left, is split in 60-30-10 ratios (between the clubs, commercial partner and AIFF).“For clubs to see any form of revenue, Genius has to bring back Rs 64 crore worth of revenue. If the commercial partner does not recoup its initial investment, then the tender terms allow them to move that loss into next year’s targets. Apply the same (principle) to Fancode and the threshold for FanCode is much lower since they have bid only Rs 36 crore,” explained a senior club official.AIFF officials said they have asked experts from KPMG to evaluate the two bids and submit a report. One of the big four accounting firms, KPMG was on board to prepare the RFQ.

Unruly passenger filmed smoking on Mumbai airport tarmac, threatens airline staff | Mumbai News

A passenger was filmed smoking on the airport tarmac and inside a terminal, disregarding staff warnings

MUMBAI: In a serious breach of aviation safety norms, video circulating on social media shows a man smoking on the airport tarmac and inside terminal premises. While the video posted on X says the incident occurred at the Mumbai airport, officials said one of the shots of the terminal building doesn’t look like it is in Mumbai. The visuals clearly capture the individual casually smoking in restricted airside areas, where such activity is strictly prohibited. In one shot he is seen walking on the tarmac with an aircraft in the background. In another clip shot from inside an airline office, he is seen standing outside the glass partition blowing smoke into the speak-thru manned by a female employee. In both the clips a staff can he heard warning him that smoking is prohibited. He counters, demanding to be shown non-smoking signage. In a third clip, the unruly passenger is seen throwing cash at an airline employee and walking away, boasting about his salary. “At Mumbai airport, a passenger was filmed smoking on the tarmac and inside a terminal, ignoring staff warnings. He exhaled smoke at a female employee and abused her while boasting about his salary,” says the post on X.Smoking on tarmac is unruly passenger behaviour and under the updated provisions, an airline can ban the unruly passenger straight away for a period of 30 days. Under the updated Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR), the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) identifies an unruly passenger as one “who fails to respect the rules of conduct at an airport or on board an aircraft or to follow the instructions of the airport staff or crew members and thereby disturbs the good order and discipline at an airport or on board the aircraft”. Smoking on the tarmac is considered a major safety violation due to the presence of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and highly flammable vapours around aircraft. Even a small ignition source can pose a fire hazard, particularly during refuelling or ground handling operations.Aviation regulations in India prohibit smoking not just inside aircraft but across operational zones of airports, with violations attracting penalties and possible legal action under safety and security provisions.A look at the past incidents show authorities treat such violations seriously. Passengers caught smoking on flights have been detained and booked, as it is classified as behaviour that can endanger aircraft safety and trigger emergency responses.

Not just Virat Kohli’s flying kiss – Anushka Sharma’s ₹18k floral top and retro denims steal the show at IPL 2026 opener

Anushka Sharma captivated at IPL 2026, pairing an ₹18K floral Sézane blouse with relaxed bell-bottom denims. This chic, high-low mix exuded effortless French-girl style and everyday comfort. Her natural beauty and candid reactions, alongside Virat Kohli’s winning gesture, made for viral moments, highlighting a modern fashion trend towards authenticity and ease.

There are cricket matches, and then there are moments. And as Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a dominant six-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in their IPL 2026 opener, all eyes weren’t just on the pitch – they were on the stands. More specifically, on Anushka Sharma.Because this time, she didn’t just serve a look – she served a whole mood.

The look: Breezy florals meet laid-back denim

Anushka showed up in the ABELY blouse from Sézane (₹18,877.89), but what really elevated the outfit was how she styled it. Instead of going overly dressy, she paired the feminine floral top with relaxed bell-bottom denims – and that’s where the magic happened. The contrast worked beautifully. The softness of the blouse balanced with the structured, slightly retro vibe of the flared jeans created a look that felt fresh, effortless, and incredibly current. It’s that perfect high-low mix – French-girl chic meets everyday comfort.

Why the bell-bottoms are the real hero

Let’s talk about those denims for a second.Bell-bottoms are quietly making a comeback, and Anushka just gave them a major style endorsement. The relaxed fit adds ease, while the subtle flare elongates the silhouette – making it flattering without trying too hard.More importantly, they bring a sense of nonchalance to the outfit. Without them, the floral blouse could have leaned a bit too pretty or polished. But with the denims? It feels grounded, wearable, and very “off-duty cool.”

Screenshot 2026-03-29 110134

This is exactly the kind of styling trick that defines modern celebrity fashion – pair something delicate with something relaxed, and suddenly, the whole look feels more real.

Effortless beauty, as always

True to her signature style, Anushka kept everything else minimal. Soft, natural hair, glowing skin, and barely-there makeup allowed the outfit to shine without competition.Sitting alongside Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues, she looked completely at ease – laughing, reacting, and soaking in the energy of the game.

The viral moments that followed

Of course, fashion aside, the internet had its eyes glued to her for another reason. As Kohli sealed the match with a boundary off Harshal Patel, he turned toward the stands and blew his now-iconic flying kiss to Anushka. And just like that, social media exploded.

Virat’s kiss to Anushka steals show as RCB enter Top 2

Virat Kohli’s sweet flying kiss to Anushka Sharma stole hearts as RCB clinched a thrilling win over LSG to secure a Top 2 finish for the first time since 2016. The team will now face Shreyas Iyer’s Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1 on May 29.

But it was her candid reactions that truly stole the show – bursting into laughter after a dropped catch, reacting dramatically to Phil Salt’s dismissal, and giving fans a series of unfiltered, meme-worthy expressions. It’s a dynamic we’ve seen for years, but somehow, it never gets old.

The bigger fashion mood

What Anushka’s look really highlights is a larger shift in fashion – towards ease, comfort, and authenticity. This isn’t about perfectly curated outfits anymore. It’s about pieces that move with you, that feel like you. A breezy blouse, a great pair of denims, and the confidence to own it – that’s the new formula. And honestly, it’s refreshing.Anushka Sharma’s IPL 2026 appearance wasn’t just another celebrity sighting – it was a reminder that great style doesn’t have to be complicated.A floral blouse, relaxed bell-bottom denims, and a whole lot of effortless charm – that’s all it took. And just like that, she turned a cricket match into a fashion moment we won’t forget anytime soon.

Mumbai man evicted from 70-year-old dad’s flat 10 months after tribunal order | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: Nearly 10 months after a Parents and Senior Citizens’ Tribunal directed a man to vacate his 70-year-old father’s suburban apartment that he had been forcibly occupying for years, police, in the presence of an officer from the tehsildar’s office, evicted him recently. The tribunal’s order had come in May 2025, but the son continued to occupy his father’s property even thereafter. Police then wrote back to the tribunal which appointed an officer from the Borivli tehsildar’s office to oversee the process of vacating the flat. In Dec 2024, the septuagenarian had approached the tribunal. He stated that his elder son, who had moved in with him about a decade ago, harassed and threatened him. After lodging a non-cognisable complaint with the police, his son moved out. The senior citizen decided to rent out his apartment so he could raise money to fund his medical expenses. But his son threatened the tenant and eventually took forcible possession of the property in 2023 after the tenant left.In his submission before the tribunal, the son said he had never stopped his father from entering the house andthat he was within his rights to live there as it was his childhood home. He made counter-allegations of harassment against his father. The father-son had lodged multiple non-cognisable complaints against each other over the past decade and a civil suit is also on.After examining documents and submissions from both parties, the tribunal observed that the apartment was legally owned by the senior citizen and his son should vacate it within one month. The son was also given instructions to not do anything to the detriment of his father’s physical and mental health and pay him a monthlymaintenance of Rs 5,000. The tribunal further ruled that if the son did not comply with the instructions, his father could go to police, who were instructed to provide help to the senior citizen under the Maharashtra Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules, 2010.Police served a copy of the tribunal’s order on the son. In an email to the police station in Nov 2025, the son said he had approached Bombay high court which had directed him to approach Dindoshi sessions court. Police wrote to the tribunal, which appointed an officer from the Borivli tehsildar’s office to evict the son.

Built for the akhara: Inside Ram Charan’s pehelwan overhaul | Telugu Movie News

Four months after the Chikiri Chikiri song previously established Ram Charan as a rural cricketer, the latest glimpse of Peddi reveals a different side of the character. Training in the rain with a heavy wooden gada, the actor has unvieled the bulked-up frame of a pehelwan.Speaking exclusively to Hyderabad Times, director Buchi Babu Sana detailed the training process behind the actor’s new look. “He put in immense effort, training every day for almost eight months to achieve the physique we envisioned for a pehelwan. That level of discipline extended beyond training — while observing Ayyappa deeksha, Ram Charan followed a strict vegetarian diet and steered clear of non-vegetarian food,” he shares. Central to this physical overhaul is the gada, a traditional heavy wooden club used by wrestlers. “Every pehelwan uses a mugdar for training. In Peddi, his character shares a strong connection with the gada, which he uses as part of his workouts,” Sana explains. “He trained extensively with it, and the fight sequences incorporate that, along with elements like mud and traditional wrestling setups.” While the pivot from the cricket field to the akhara has left everyone guessing about the character’s primary discipline, the director remains elusive. “He plays a sportsman. What sport he excels in will be revealed in theatres, but wrestling forms a major part of the film,” he says, signing off.
