'Dhurandhar' box office collection Day 28: Ranveer Singh starrer ends week 4 with Rs 100 crore haul; New Year's boost helps film beat 'Ikkis'

‘Dhurandhar’, starring Ranveer Singh, kicked off 2026 on a high, further tightening its grip over the Indian box office. The Aditya Dhar-directed Hindi spy thriller, which has been on a historic run since its December release, wrapped up its fourth week with a record-breaking Rs 100 crore haul, aided by a strong New Year boost that helped it outperform new release ‘Ikkis’.Dhurandhar Movie Review

Dhurandhar Week 4 box office collection

According to early estimates by Sacnilk, ‘Dhurandhar’ earned approximately Rs 15.75 crore India net on Day 28. With this, the film has also sealed its position as the biggest Hindi grosser of all time.

Week-wise performance

The film opened to an explosive Rs 207.25 crore in its first week, followed by an even stronger Rs 253.25 crore in Week 2. Collections dipped in Week 3 to Rs 172 crore, but the New Year holiday propelled the film to an estimated Rs 106.5 crore in Week 4, thus scoring the highest fourth-week collection ever recorded by a Bollywood film.

Total box office collections

With its Day 28 earnings added in, ‘Dhurandhar’ now stands at an estimated Rs 739 crore India net. The film’s India gross collection has climbed to around Rs 886.75 crore.

‘Dhurandhar’ vs ‘Ikkis’

The film that is nearing a month of its release, still managed to rake in a higher box office performance than the new release ‘Ikkis’ which hit theatres on Jan 1. While the war drama earned just around Rs 7 crore on its opening day, ‘Dhurandhar’ earned almost double of its box office collections.

Historic fourth-week milestone

‘Dhurandhar’ now holds the record for the highest fourth-week collection in Bollywood history. Its Rs 106 crore Week 4 haul nearly doubles the previous record of Rs 53.75 crore held by ‘Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2’. The film has also remained in double-digit daily collections for an unprecedented stretch, surpassing all previous Hindi blockbusters.

Overseas performance

The Ranveer starrer has also continued its stellar performance overseas, raking in an estimated Rs 250 crore from international markets. This takes the film’s worldwide box office total to approximately Rs 1,136.75 crore, thus establishing ‘Dhurandhar’ as the highest-grossing Hindi film ever.

Top 5 highest-earning Indian films

With these numbers, ‘Dhurandhar’ entered the top five highest-earning Indian films of all time. The film now trails only ‘RRR’, ‘KGF Chapter 2’, ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ and ‘Pushpa: The Rule – Part 2’ on the India gross chart.

‘Dhurandhar’ eyes historic Week 5

If the film continues to hold strong in the coming days, trade analysts believe it could go on to challenge the Week 5 records as well. Currently, Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’ holds the record for the highest week 5 collection, which is estimated to be around Rs 30.05 crore.

‘Play like Pujara and Rahane’: Ex-India batter’s old-school advice amid Test batting chaos | Cricket News

'Play like Pujara and Rahane': Ex-India batter's old-school advice amid Test batting chaos

Robin Uthappa has delivered a sharp assessment of the MCG Test pitch, calling it challenging and seam-friendly but far from unplayable. Speaking on his YouTube channel, the former India batter argued that such surfaces appear extreme largely because modern batting has moved away from patience and problem-solving. Uthappa’s central argument is that teams need to reset expectations. On wickets like these, totals around 250 can be competitive, provided batters are willing to grind, show discipline and resist the urge to force the game.

Why Gautam Gambhir needs to rethink the extra batting cushion in 2026

“See, it’s a dichotomous situation. It’s not like it’s an impossible wicket. There are such wickets in Melbourne which are very juicy for fast bowlers… I think it’s because of the way cricket is played today. I feel like these pitches are unsporty, but if you have the right technique and the right mindset and the fight in you, you’ll be able to figure out a solution for this kind of a wicket also. It’s not a high-scoring game, but it’s not... It won’t be a 300-plus game, but even a 250 on this wicket is possible. You gotta fight it out. Play it like Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane. Definitely, you’ll score runs,” Uthappa said. He made it clear that the pitch does not need to be “fair” in a balanced sense for batters to succeed. According to Uthappa, players still retain control if their defence is solid and their mindset clear, allowing them to weather tough spells and inch the score forward. That is why he highlighted Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane as ideal reference points, pointing to their ability to leave the ball well, trust time at the crease and view pressure as temporary rather than decisive. Uthappa also touched upon Joe Root’s struggles during the second Test in Brisbane, describing the England batter’s dismissal as an unfortunate reflection of where Test batting currently stands. “I am saying this with a grain of salt because the way we’re playing Test cricket has now changed. I don’t enjoy it a lot, like Ashes Test matches that finished in two days. What are we doing to the sport for entertainment? Joe Root too lost in that Test match. He didn’t know how to play, play attacking cricket, or play his own way in the second innings. It was quite unfortunate… I empathise with them,” he said. Taken together, Uthappa’s comments serve as a broader caution. If Test batting becomes driven only by instant intent, difficult pitches will not just lead to lower scores but deeper uncertainty. And once batters stop believing there is a method to survive, Test cricket risks losing its defining quality: the ability to endure and adapt under sustained pressure.

Gold stripped from Sabarimala through organised op: SIT | India News

Gold stripped from Sabarimala through organised op: SIT

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM/THRISSUR: Gold embedded in sacred structures of Sabarimala temple in central Kerala was allegedly stripped, diverted and converted through a planned operation involving temple officials, intermediaries and private jewellers, a state-appointed SIT told a vigilance court. In a report seeking police custody of key accused, SIT said gold-plated copper sheets forming part of the sanctum sanctorum were removed in 2019 under the pretext of repairs, chemically stripped of gold at a private Chennai workshop and returned with fresh plating to conceal the loss. According to investigators, ornamental panels depicting 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu, zodiac symbols, the sanctum door lintel and the prabhamandalam (an arch behind the idol) were falsely described as ordinary copper sheets to secure their removal, causing unlawful loss to Travancore Devaswom Board, which manages the temple. SIT alleged criminal breach of trust, saying extracted gold was neither reported to devaswom authorities nor returned to temple treasury but treated as personal property. Arrests have been made and accused remanded in judicial custody, with SIT telling court interrogation in custody was essential to trace remaining gold and establish full chain of responsibility. SIT named former TDB president A Padmakumar, devaswom commissioner N Vasu, Sabarimala executive officer Sudheesh Kumar, administrative officer Murari Babu and others, along with Chennai-based Smart Creations CEO Pankaj Bhandari and Ballari-based jeweller Roddam Pandu Rangaiah Naga Govardhan. Prime accused Unnikrishnan Potti was also produced before court.

He also spoke openly about being sidelined: “Baseless, agenda-driven theories were floated and I was isolated. I have told the central brass this. I am not afraid of getting lost.
