Australia vs India, Women’s ODI Series: Schedule, Team News, Broadcast and Live Streaming Details

As the focus shifts to the 50-over format, the rivalry between Australia and India reaches a fever pitch. India enter this ODI leg with a significant psychological advantage and a 4-2 lead in the multi-format series points table, having just secured a historic 2-1 T20I series win on Australian soil.

For the hosts, this match marks the beginning of an emotional farewell. Alyssa Healy returns to the side to lead Australia in her final ODI series before retirement, adding a layer of high-stakes sentiment to an already intense battle.

AUS vs IND, Women’s ODI series: Team news

Australia Women

The narrative surrounding the Australian camp is dominated by an emotional transition. Legendary wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy returns to the playing XI and the captaincy for the start of her “swansong” series. After making the shock announcement in January that she will retire from all forms of international cricket following this multi-format series, Healy opted to sit out the preceding T20Is to allow the team to prepare for the 2026 T20 World Cup under new leadership. Now, she returns to the 50-over format, where she has been most destructive, aiming to overturn India’s 4-2 series lead.

Tactically, Australia welcomes back star leg-spinner Alana King. Having been overlooked for the T20I leg, King’s inclusion is a clear intent to control the middle overs. Her ability to extract bounce and turn, even on a generally true surface like Allan Border Field, will be vital in curbing India’s aggressive stroke-makers. With Sophie Molineux serving as vice-captain and having led the side during the T20Is, the Australian leadership group remains robust. The hosts will rely heavily on Ellyse Perry and Beth Mooney to provide the batting stability that was occasionally missing during their 2-1 T20I series loss.

India Women

India enter the ODI leg with immense psychological momentum. As the reigning ODI World Cup champions, having secured their first-ever title in late 2025, they have proved they can dismantle Australia on the biggest stage. Their recent T20I series victory on Australian soil, secured by a dominant performance from Smriti Mandhana, who smashed a match-winning 82 in the decider, has only bolstered their “giant-killer” reputation.

The most significant boost for India is the return of Pratika Rawal. The 25-year-old opener, who averages a staggering 50.45 in ODIs, has finally completed her rehabilitation following a severe ankle injury sustained during the 2025 World Cup group stages. Rawal was a pillar of India’s World Cup campaign, scoring 308 runs including a crucial century against New Zealand. Her return allows India to reunite one of the most feared top-orders in the game alongside Mandhana and Shafali Verma. With Jemimah Rodrigues also in peak form, boasting an average near 50 against Australia, India’s batting lineup looks deep and resilient. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur will look to her spin twins, Sneh Rana and Deepti Sharma, to mirror the discipline shown in the T20Is and secure a historic bilateral series win on Australian soil.

‘He will lead the pack’: Trump denies US general Daniel Caine opposed potential war with Iran

'He will lead the pack': Trump denies US general Daniel Caine opposed potential war with Iran

US President Donald Trump has rejected reports that America’s top military commander, General Daniel Caine, warned against a potential war with Iran, calling the claims inaccurate and misleading. He said the reports suggesting that Caine had flagged the risks of a prolonged military campaign were “100% incorrect”. He said, “Numerous stories from the Fake News Media have been circulating stating that General Daniel Caine, sometimes referred to as Razin, is against us going to War with Iran. The story does not attribute this vast wealth of knowledge to anyone, and is 100% incorrect.”Elaborating further on Truth Social, he added, “General Caine, like all of us, would like not to see War but, if a decision is made on going against Iran at a Military level, it is his opinion that it will be something easily won. He knows Iran well in that he was in charge of Midnight Hammer, the attack on the Iranian Nuclear Development. It is a Development no longer, but rather, was blown to smithereens by our Great B-2 Bombers. Razin Caine is a Great Fighter, and represents the Most Powerful Military anywhere in the World.”The US president went on to say that if military action were ordered, Caine would be at the forefront. “He has not spoken of not doing Iran, or even the fake limited strikes that I have been reading about, he only knows one thing, how to WIN and, if he is told to do so, he will be leading the pack. Everything that has been written about a potential War with Iran has been written incorrectly, and purposefully so.”He added, “I am the one that makes the decision, I would rather have a Deal than not but, if we don’t make a Deal, it will be a very bad day for that Country and, very sadly, its people, because they are great and wonderful, and something like this should never have happened to them.”However, The Wall Street Journal has reported that Caine warned an extended confrontation “could incur significant costs to US forces and munitions stockpiles.”The move comes after thousands of people in Iran reportedly received anonymous text messages on Monday warning of possible US action and calling the American president a “man of action”, according to Iran International English citing Iranian state media. At the same time, the United States has been reinforcing its military footprint in the region, fuelling worries about a possible wider confrontation with Iran. The New York Times had earlier reported that hundreds of US servicemen have been relocated from the Al Udeid base in Qatar, citing Pentagon officials.Comparable troop and logistical movements have also been observed at American facilities in Bahrain, where the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet is headquartered, as well as in Iraq, Syria, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.Officials fear that the 30,000 to 40,000 American troops stationed across the region could become the Islamic Republic’s primary targets if a full-scale conflict breaks out.Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to meet a US delegation in Geneva on Thursday for the next round of negotiations over Tehran’s nuclear programme. The two sides have already held two rounds of talks this month aimed at securing a deal.

‘It’s not all about Usman Tariq’: England fire warning ahead of Pakistan Super 8s clash | Cricket News

'It's not all about Usman Tariq': England fire warning ahead of Pakistan Super 8s clash

England left-arm spinner Liam Dawson insisted the two-time champions will not be consumed by the buzz around Pakistan’s mystery spinner Usman Tariq ahead of Tuesday’s crucial T20 World Cup Super Eights encounter. He stressed that England are preparing for Pakistan’s entire spin unit rather than focusing on one individual threat.England head into the contest on the back of a convincing 51-run win over co-hosts Sri Lanka. Another victory against Pakistan would seal a top-two finish in their Super Eights group and confirm a semifinal berth.

Inside Pakistan’s intense nets session in Kandy ahead of their Super Eight clash against England

However, there are concerns over England’s susceptibility to spin after four of their top five batters were dismissed by Sri Lankan spinners in their previous outing — an issue that could be tested against a Pakistan attack featuring Tariq, Shadab Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Saim Ayub, Salman Agha and Mohammad Nawaz.Tariq has drawn attention throughout the tournament for his unusual action, including a pronounced pause before delivering his off-breaks. England captain Harry Brook was even seen imitating Tariq’s bowling style during practice. Despite the spotlight on the Pakistani spinner, Dawson underlined the importance of a balanced approach.“It’s not all about Tariq. They’re a very good team with some dangerous players, and Tariq’s obviously a very good bowler. But we’re not going to just look at him. We’ll look at the whole team and see how we can nullify them,” Dawson told reporters on the eve of the match.Dawson played a key role in England’s win over Sri Lanka, combining with Will Jacks and Adil Rashid to claim seven wickets as Sri Lanka were dismissed for 95 while chasing 146/9. He pointed to the diversity within England’s spin attack as a major strength.“We’re all very different types of spinners. Jacksy gets a lot of overspin and a lot of bounce. Dilly (Rashid) has all his variations. Me – I sort of don’t get the bounce that the other two get. It will be a different challenge on Tuesday night. We might get a better batting wicket. We’ll have to see.”“Out of the three or four of us, I’m probably more the defensive spinner in this, and I know that’s my role, and I’m just trying to be consistent for the captain. Adil can use all his tricks, and he comes on us to get the wickets and get us back in games or put us ahead in games.“We’re all very experienced. If you look at the amount of cricket that me and Adil have played, even Jacks as well, it’s probably only with Beth that’s probably got a little bit less experience. But there’s a lot of trust in the guys that go out there and try to execute what you want to try and do,” he added.

Indian tech reviewer alleges racism at luxury Mauritius resort: ‘Imagine begging after paying Rs 3.5 lakh ‘ |

Indian tech reviewer alleges racism at luxury Mauritius resort: ‘Imagine begging after paying Rs 3.5 lakh ‘

An Indian technology reviewer has alleged racial discrimination during a stay at a luxury resort in Mauritius, saying staff prioritised European guests while ignoring him and his parents. The claims were shared on X by a user known as @Starcommander10, who said the incident occurred some time ago but did not give an exact date. He stated that he had booked a stay at the five-star Anantara Iko resort after securing a new job, intending to treat his parents to what he described as a dream holiday. According to his post, the reviewer paid about Rs 3.5 lakh for the visit. He claims they were excluded from an Easter lunch event and treated differently from white guests during the meal service. The resort has not publicly responded to the allegations.

“My mom…literally begged,” tech reviewer claims racism during stay at luxury Mauritius resort

In his post, the reviewer wrote that the incident took place on Easter afternoon. He wrote that his family had asked the reception to reserve a lunch table at 1 PM but were told to wait due to limited availability. After waiting, they went directly to the restaurant and found no free tables.A European family then informed them that a special Easter lunch was being held and that guests had been invited. The reviewer said he was unsure why his family had not been informed. He described waiting until around 2.30 PM before his mother approached a housekeeping staff member to ‘beg’ for help in finding food. “My mom then went to an old housekeeping lady staff and literally begged if we can have lunch somewhere.” He wrote that the staff member eventually guided them to the Easter event area, where food and seating were available.

The reviewer alleges unequal treatment during buffet service

The reviewer further claimed that while at the buffet, he noticed food being replenished selectively. He said that when French fries ran out, and he asked a chef for more, he was told there were none left, though potato wedges might be available. Shortly afterwards, he alleged that a white child made the same request, and the fries were refilled. He described feeling shocked and said he raised the issue with the duty manager. According to his account, the response was limited to noting the feedback, with no apology offered. The reviewer also wrote that he did not speak publicly at the time because he felt concerned about his safety. He added that while he found Mauritius beautiful and praised local people, he believed the property did not treat Indian guests equally. The allegations have drawn attention online, with users debating experiences of discrimination in luxury hospitality settings. The resort has yet to issue a statement addressing the claims.
