'We'll be leaving very soon': Trump says US to end Iran war in 2-3 weeks

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said the US could end the war with Iran within weeks, pointing to a possible early exit from a conflict that has disrupted global energy markets.Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said, “We’ll be leaving very soon,” adding that the withdrawal could happen “within two weeks, maybe two weeks, maybe three.”The remarks are his clearest yet that Washington is preparing to wind down the month-long war.Trump also said a deal with Tehran is not necessary to bring the conflict to an end. “Iran doesn’t have to make a deal, no,” he said. “No, they don’t have to make a deal with me.”Instead, he said the objective is to ensure Iran is left without the ability to quickly develop a nuclear weapon.“Then we’ll leave,” he added. On the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil route, Trump said the US will not take responsibility for securing it.“That’s not for us. That’ll be for France. That’ll be for whoever’s using the strait,” he said, adding there is “no reason for us to do this.”He also criticised US allies for not doing enough to support the American effort.Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the joint US-Israel offensive is weakening Iran and reshaping regional alignments.Addressing the nation, Netanyahu said the campaign was “systematically crushing” the Iranian regime and that Israel is building “new alliances with important countries in the region.”He said Iran had spent vast sums on its military ambitions with little to show for it.“Now it can be said: That trillion has gone down the drain,” Netanyahu said.Netanyahu added that Iran is now weaker than before, while Israel has emerged stronger, though he stressed that the war is not yet over. The developments come amid growing expectations that the US could halt the war without a formal agreement, a possibility that some analysts say Israeli messaging is beginning to anticipate.

86 per cent in India report workplace disruptions, above global levels | India News

86 per cent in India report workplace disruptions, above global levels

NEW DELHI: India’s workforce is facing a sharper disruption than the rest of the world’s — but is also adapting faster, with 86% reporting major workplace changes in the past year, far above global levels, and 89% actively building new skills to stay relevant.Exclusively accessed by TOI, the 2026 Human Progress Report by ETS (Educational Testing Service), a global non-profit that designs assessments like TOEFL and GRE and tracks workforce readiness trends, flags a defining shift. Job security is no longer about tenure, but adaptability. As AI reshapes work and roles evolve rapidly, Indian workers are leaning heavily into continuous learning and skill validation to stay competitive.Globally, 67% of workers reported at least one major workplace disruption, but India is among the hardest hit markets. Nearly 98% of workers here report facing at least one barrier to professional success, underscoring the pressure to constantly upskill.Yet, India also stands out for resilience. The country recorded a Human Progress Index score of 114.4, significantly above the global average of 96.7.The report shows Indian workers are actively future-proofing. Nearly nine in ten say they are developing new skills, while 90% believe verified credentials are essential as skill demands shift.“In the face of a changing job landscape, workers are quickly adapting,” said Amit Sevak, CEO of ETS. “Adaptability is becoming the new ‘must have’ skill.”A key driver of this shift is AI. Indian workers estimate that over 42% of their tasks involve AI tools, higher than the global average, and 78% say they use AI primarily to remain competitive, not by choice.Globally, the report points to a widening skills gap. Workers face a 19-point gap between the importance of AI skills and actual proficiency and 88% expect employers to support upskilling, but only 71% get it.The pressure is translating into anxiety. Another structural gap is emerging around access to credentials. While 73% of workers globally want skill credentials, only 45% have access, pointing to affordability and availability barriers. The broader global picture is one of continuous disruption. The report, based on over 32,000 respondents across 18 countries, notes that workers are “trying to aim at an unclear future,” even as they build skills in real time.

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)’s new rules related to Form I-129 will kick in from April 1, 2026. Under the change, the immigration authority will stop accepting H-1B and other visa applications if it is received in the 01/20/25 edition of Form I-129. For those unaware, the Form I-129 is used by employers to file on behalf of a nonimmigrant worker coming to the United States temporarily to perform services or labor, or to receive training, as an H-1B, H-2A, H-2B, H-3, L-1, O-1, O-2, P-1, P-1S, P-2, P-2S, P-3, P-3S, Q-1 or R-1 nonimmigrant worker.

What’s new in Form I-129

The latest edition of Form I-129 comes with significant changes to the H Classification Supplement for the fiscal year 2027 (FY27) H1B cap season under the new wage-weighted lottery system. The update form now asks employers to detail the minimum educational requirements for the position it is hiring for, along with other information like exact field of study, requirement of minimum experience and if the role includes supervisory responsibilities, among others. These are the same factors that the US Department of Labor uses to assign a wage level (Level I through Level IV) on the Labor Condition Application (LCA). The revised Form I-129 will now show two wage levels:

  • wage level listed on the LCA
  • wage level selected during the H-1B registration process

With the revised Form I-129, USCIS is now collecting this information directly o to verify that the correct wage level has been selected.

Here’s what USCIS’s alert on Form I-129 said

On Feb. 27, 2026, USCIS published a new edition of Form I-129 (edition date 02/27/26).Starting April 1, 2026, we will accept only the 02/27/26 edition. Until then, you can also use the 01/20/25 edition. The edition date is at the bottom of the page on the form and instructions. If you file Form I-129 please note that we will:

  • Accept the 01/20/25 edition of Form I-129 if it is received on or before March 31, 2026; and

  • Reject the 01/20/25 edition of Form I-129 if it is received on or after April 1, 2026.

Ravindra Jadeja says he had no conversation with MS Dhoni after RR move

After Ravindra Jadeja moved from the Chennai Super Kings to the Rajasthan Royals, the veteran all-rounder revealed that he has not yet had the opportunity to speak with MS Dhoni or any other CSK teammate after he left the franchise.

Who would have ever imagined that the Chennai Super Kings would release their ace spinner, Ravindra Jadeja? But they did, and the veteran all-rounder went to the Rajasthan Royals camp, the former franchise with whom he played his first season in the IPL.

Jadeja spent 13 seasons on the Chennai Super Kings team, and won three titles with them in 2018, 2021, and 2023. He represented the Gujarat Lions in 2016 and 2017, the two years when the CSK side was banned in the IPL.

New Team, New Look: Ravindra Jadeja announces his arrival for the Royals in some style

It was surreal to see Ravindra Jadeja play in the IPL for a team that isn’t wearing Yellow shirts. The feeling was never so odd when he played for the Rajasthan Royals in 2008-09 and the Kochi Tuskers in 2011.

This was the first time that he squared off against his former franchise, the Chennai Super Kings, which gave him the modern-day reputation of an excellent all-rounder. But again, this is the nature of the IPL: players jump from one ship to the other, and their loyalties are tested.

When Ravindra Jadeja took the field for the Rajasthan Royals at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati, he was seen in a new avatar. With a new look featuring a buzz haircut, Jadeja looked like a bison that ran through the CSK batting order through the middle overs.

Why has Jadeja not spoken to his former CSK teammates?

When Ravindra Jadeja was asked if he had spoken to anyone from his former CSK dugout after he got traded to the Royals, Jadeja said that he had not gotten the opportunity yet. The four-time IPL champion claimed that he wishes to have a word with the likes of MS Dhoni or Suresh Raina.

“I haven’t spoken to Mahi bhai. He keeps his phone off the entire time.” He added, “But whenever I meet him—and I’ll meet Raina bhai and Anil Kumble bhai as well—I will speak to all of you.”

The veteran spinner admitted that the transition is a tough phase for him, but he came to accept it as a part of the journey. Jadeja will be integrating with the new group, learning from them, and sharing his experience.

Ravindra Jadeja won the massive battle against Shivam Dube

As Jadeja featured in the opposite camp, he had a highly anticipated matchup against Shivam Dube, the proud Indian all-rounder. Shivam Dube has been part of the Indian T20 setup and has performed stunningly in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

A left-handed big-hitting slogger up against a left-arm orthodox spinner is a dreadful sight for the legendary Ravindra Jadeja. He dismissed Sarfaraz Khan in just his second delivery, and then came Shivam Dube onto the pitch.

Dube charged down from ball one and smashed a massive six off Jadeja. He then kept attacking his former teammate. In the third ball, Dube once again looked to clear the fence and was caught at long-off. Jadeja triumphed in the battle of the lefties.

Leander exits TMC, joins BJP ‘to serve youth and countrymen’ | India News

Leander exits TMC, joins BJP ‘to serve youth and countrymen’

=KOLKATA/NEW DELHI: Olympic bronze medallist and multiple Grand Slam doubles champion Leander Paes crossed over to the BJP on Tuesday, exiting the Trinamool Congress after a brief stint. At BJP headquarters in New Delhi, Paes, 52, framed the move as a new “responsibility” after four decades in sport. “I have played for the country… I wish to serve youth and countrymen now,” he said, thanking PM Narendra Modi for the opportunity. Party functionaries pitched the tennis legend’s entry as a signal to urban voters and younger demographics, pushing back against criticism that the BJP focuses narrowly on Hindu causes.Junior Union minister Sukanta Majumdar called Paes “a son of Bengal”, citing his upbringing in Kolkata and lineage tracing back to 19th-century poet and playwright Michael Madhusudan Dutt. Party functionaries expect his profile — Christian, Goan roots, Kolkata upbringing — to widen outreach among non-Hindu communities and the urban middle class.Paes had met BJP national president Nitin Nabin in Kolkata last week, fuelling speculation. He was inducted by the minority affairs minister Kiren Rijiju along with senior netas. BJP insiders said his proximity to Rijiju dates back to 2019–21, when the latter handled the sports portfolio.“We have 74.5 crore youth. We need to build a future for them,” Paes said.Rijiju called the entry a “moment of pride”, describing Paes as an iconic figure inspired by the government’s sports push.Paes had joined Trinamool in 2021 and campaigned in the Goa polls during the party’s expansion attempt that later faltered.Trinamool’s reaction ranged from guarded to pointed. One functionary declined to comment. Another said, “The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, will be discussed in Lok Sabha on Wednesday. Our MP, Saugata Roy, will speak against it. Hopefully, Paes will express his views on this since Trinamool and the Christian community oppose the bill strongly. Now that he will campaign, we hope he will open up on the anti-conversion statutes in 13 states.Voices from sports and Christian circles struck mixed notes. Former India Davis Cup captain Jaidip Mukerjea said sportspersons should focus on sport. “Joining just before assembly elections also isn’t proper… timing wrong,” he said. Father Gregory Monteiro called the move unexpected but a personal choice, hoping it would benefit the community.

‘I’ll be sitting like a dumb duck’: Riyan Parag on Sanju Samson dismissal plan | Cricket News

Sanju Samson (Image credit: BCCI/IPL)

NEW DELHI: Playing alongside Sanju Samson for years, knowing him well, understanding his playing style, the areas he targets, along with his strengths and weaknesses, Riyan Parag had a clear plan in mind when he set the field against Samson, who is playing for CSK this season. Samson was traded from Rajasthan Royals to CSK last year. The moment Samson walked in to open alongside CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, Riyan was quick to set the field according to the plan, and it worked perfectly in Rajasthan Royals’ favour.

Riyan deployed Nandre Burger against Samson, and the South African pacer delivered for his captain.Burger fired a 140kph thunderbolt, and Samson, attempting to heave across the line, missed it completely as the ball crashed into the off-stump.Samson’s first innings in yellow ended for just 6 runs.“I feel for Sanju bhaia, it was the first three balls or first four balls that we wanted to execute something. That kind of went well, so we went ahead with it. And we were just trying to target where he plays his first three balls or where he plays his first four to five balls and then just set fielders accordingly and ask him to hit a better shot or hit a different shot, which is, again, a gamble sort of, but then that gives us a lot of percentage of favours in our way,” he told reporters after RR win.“Let’s say the shot he got out to, we would have wanted him to hit that shot instead of bowling short to him and him pulling it because he likes that. So we just try and make decisions a little uncomfortable for the bowlers, for the batsmen, sorry, and then we just try and execute.“If it comes off, looks very good. If it doesn’t come off and he gets hit for a few cuts, I’ll be sitting here sitting like a dumb duck, right? So that’s about it,” he revealed.Rajasthan Royals will now face Gujarat Titans on April 4 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Mohsin Naqvi enforces new social media rules for Pakistan players following Naseem Shah incident

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi reportedly tightened his administrative control over the online activities of all centrally contracted cricketers. According to reports, the PCB has instructed players to seek clearance from the media department before posting any content on social media.

This move also serves as a broader reminder about contractual responsibilities and maintaining public discipline. The cricket board reiterated that players are bound by clauses in their central contracts, which govern their digital conduct and regulate their public communication going forward.

Why Is She Treated Like the Queen at Lord’s? – Naseem Shah’s Post Sparks Controversy

During the PSL opening ceremony at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Mohsin Naqvi welcomed Maryam Nawaz as a special guest and introduced her to the franchise owners. Maryam Nawaz also extended her best wishes to all the teams.

A quote-retweet then appeared from Naseem Shah’s official account, which sparked widespread debate across the cricketing community.

The now-deleted post questioned the special treatment given to Maryam Nawaz at the Gaddafi Stadium, especially since Mohsin Naqvi had previously restricted PSL matches to empty stadiums.

“Why is she treated like the Queen at Lord’s?”

Naseem Shah Fined PKR 20 Million After Controversial Tweet

The Pakistan Cricket Board fined Naseem Shah PKR 20 million after he posted a controversial tweet about Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz during the Pakistan Super League opening match.

Naseem initially told his followers that the post was not intentional. He said, “This account of Naseem was recently hacked but has now been recovered successfully.”

Following a show-cause notice, Naseem appeared before a disciplinary panel. The fast bowler later issued an apology and dismissed his social media manager.

Naseem, representing the new PSL team Rawalpindi Pindiz, had a difficult outing as he conceded 51 runs without taking a wicket in a five-wicket defeat to Peshawar Zalmi.

The fast bowler has taken 152 wickets for Pakistan across formats, including 20 Tests, 34 ODIs, and 37 T20Is.

PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi Warns Players Over Social Media Conduct, Imposes Strict Rules

According to a report by Geo News, the PCB briefed both the players and their respective agents about the updated behavioral expectations. Naqvi stated that the board will not allow any form of political commentary on player social media accounts.

The report added that the PCB warned players and their managers about the new digital guidelines. The board has set strict financial penalties, stating that any contracted player posting controversial content could face a minimum fine of PKR 10 million.

“Political posts will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” sources said, as quoted by Geo News.

The report also stated that Mohsin Naqvi is losing patience with the ongoing controversies surrounding the Pakistan Super League season.

Last year, Pakistan all-rounder Aamer Jamal was fined $4,000 for wearing a slogan in support of former cricketer and ex-prime minister Imran Khan, who is currently in jail.

Bombay high court: Deposit pending appeal by builder can be withdrawn by buyer under RERA | Mumbai News

Mumbai: Observing that a builder and buyer cannot be placed on an equal footing since buyer is “generally very vulnerable”, the HC permitted a flat purchaser to withdraw an amount deposited by the builder, pending appeal in a dispute over a project delayed by over a decade. The HC on Monday ruled that the provisions of RERA do not preclude the appellate tribunal from exercising its discretion in a deserving case for releasing amounts deposited by a builder during pendency of his appeal. The discretion would depend on facts of each case, the HC clarified and set out general factors that would weigh in, including any dispute over the amounts paid by the buyer of which the refund is ordered due to delays in a project. The builder filed an appeal before the HC to challenge a RERA appellate tribunal order that permitted a buyer to withdraw from a deposit during the pendency of his appeal. The builder first filed an appeal against a Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) order of Sept 2025 that, on a complaint filed by the flat allottee Mitul Gada, allowed him to withdraw the pre-deposits made by the builder — Rare Townships Private Limited. The state RERA appellate tribunal, which required the builder to make a pre-deposit to hear his appeal, in Jan 2026 allowed the buyer to withdraw the amount and thus prompted the builder to rush to the HC. Gada in 2015 booked, for over Rs 3 crore, two flats on the 15th floors of a project called North Sea Heights (A1), which was being developed by Rare Townships. The delivery was due on Dec 31, 2018. He paid almost Rs 2 crore. Since possession was delayed, the buyer complained before MahaRERA and sought refund under Section 18 of RERA, with interest and compensation. In March 2021, MahaRERA ordered the refund with interest. On March 30, Justice N J Jamadar, sitting singly, observed, “it is no solace to an allottee that the amount ordered to be refunded is secured and kept in a deposit. The release of the amount ameliorates the situation of the allottee by relieving him of the financial constraints and also the mental anguish caused by the breach of obligations.” The builder pleaded that permitting withdrawal of his deposits was a “transgression of the jurisdiction” and legally impermissible. The buyer’s lawyer said the release is safeguarded by an undertaking to bring back the amount with interest if builder succeeds. “A party (the builder in this case), who has deprived the adversary of his hard-earned money for over a decade cannot be heard to urge that if the amount is released in favour of the allottee, and eventually, he succeeds, he would find it difficult to recover the amount,” the HC ruled. The HC also said “avowed object of the provisions contained in the proviso to Section 43(5) of RERA 2016 is to obviate a situation where the allottee, despite succeeding before the Authority as well as the Appellate Tribunal, is left in the lurch.” Thus, to ensure that the interest of the allottee is adequately protected when the promoter prefers an appeal against an order passed by the Authority or Adjudicating Officer directing the payment of any amount to the allottee, the legislature has provided that the promoter shall deposit the amount. The HC dismissed the builder’s submission that RERA Tribunal is empowered only to secure the pre-deposit and not permit withdrawal. The character of the amount which is ordered to be refunded by the Authority under Section 18 of the RERA 2016 is of critical salience, the HC observed. Section 18(1) of RERA obliges a builder to refund buyers with interest over delays. The HC said what is thus “directed to be refunded is the amount which was, in the first place, paid by the allottee to the promoter, and, in a fair number of cases, like the case at hand, years ago.” At heart is the liability to pay interest on amounts received from buyers, the court observed, adding, “In law, interest whether statutory or contractual, represents the profit the person deprived of the money.” The HC noted the capacity to withstand deprivation of legitimate amounts vastly differs between buyers and builders. It held that the RERA Appellate Tribunal exercised the discretion in a judicious manner.
