A 28-year-old man allegedly shot himself in the chest while his cousin was recording a video of him loading a pistol in east Delhi’s Dallupura, police said on Tuesday.

Moments later, despite a second alarm — “Arey, nahi” — a 28-year-old man allegedly shot himself in the chest while recording a video of himself loading a pistol in east Delhi’s Dallupura, police said on Tuesday. According to news agency PTI, the incident came to light on Monday after police at New Ashok Nagar station received information from Dharamshila Hospital in Vasundhara Enclave about a medico-legal case involving a gunshot injury. When officers reached the hospital, they found that Pawan Kumar, a resident of Dallupura village, had been admitted in an unconscious state with a gunshot wound on the left side of his chest. Doctors later declared him dead during treatment.

Police say the incident was captured on camera, although the person filming — identified as Himanshu, a cousin of the deceased — appeared unaware of Pawan’s intentions. In the video, which has since circulated on social media, Pawan is seen inserting a magasine into a licensed pistol and loading the weapon. Himanshu can be heard advising him on handling the firearm and cautioning him against firing it. Moments later, Pawan places the pistol against the left side of his chest, briefly looks towards the camera and pulls the trigger, collapsing to the ground as Himanshu reacts in shock. A preliminary inquiry found that the pistol belonged to Himanshu. Police said the weapon, along with 10 live cartridges, has been seized. The mobile phone used to record the video has also been taken into possession, and investigators have collected other relevant evidence from the scene. The body has been sent to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital for a post-mortem examination. MUMBAI: A lawyer has approached the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) seeking an immediate ban on the song “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke”, alleging that its lyrics and visuals are obscene and harmful, particularly to minors, news agency ANI reported. A formal complaint was filed by advocate Vineet Jindal requesting urgent legal action against the song, which features actors Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt. The complaint has also been marked to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, according to ANI. The complainant alleges that the song, which has been released on YouTube and is widely circulating across social media platforms, contains “highly vulgar, sexually suggestive, and obscene expressions.” It is further contended that the picturisation and dance sequences are provocative in nature and contribute to promoting vulgarity, thereby disturbing public decency. According to the complaint, certain lyrics in the song are explicitly objectionable and inappropriate for public consumption, especially given their easy accessibility to minors.The complainant has raised concerns that such content, when freely available online, exposes children to material that is not age-appropriate. The complaint also identifies key contributors associated with the song, including lyricist Raqeeb Alam, director Prem, composer Arjun Janya, and singer Mangli. Seventy years ago, it faced what is known as the Suez crisis,” Ramesh posted on X.“On July 26, 1956, President Nasser of Egypt nationalised the Suez Canal. This created a huge furore in the West, and war clouds loomed. The man at the centre of the diplomatic effort to resolve the crisis was none other than VK Krishna Menon. He succeeded admirably, but only for a while,” he added.Ramesh recalled that on October 29, the UK, France, and Israel launched an invasion of Egypt, which had to be aborted within days following intervention by a “furious” US President Dwight Eisenhower.“Ironically, this was the same man who three years earlier had approved the joint US-UK operation to overthrow the democratically elected PM of Iran, Mohammed Mosaddegh, who had nationalised the oil industry there,” the Rajya Sabha MP observed, referring to Eisenhower.After the Egyptian invasion was halted, the UN Emergency Force remained stationed along the Sinai and Gaza borders until early June 1967. “This Force, drawn from ten countries including India, was active till 1967.
