More about ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is the second installment in Aditya Dhar’s spy universe. While the first film focused on counter-terrorism, this sequel acts as a gritty origin story. It follows the journey of Jaskirat Singh, a Punjabi boy with a complex past, as he evolves into Hamza, India’s most lethal intelligence asset operating deep within Pakistan. The film is led by Ranveer Singh, playing Hamza/Jaskirat Singh. The antagonists are Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Asla and Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal. The supporting cast features R. Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, Danish Pandor and Udaybir Sandhu. The thriller also features a special appearance as Yami Gautam.Originally planned as a single movie, the narrative grew so complex that it was split into two parts. At 3 hours and 49 minutes (229 minutes), it is one of the longest Indian films to achieve such high occupancy. It holds a U/A certificate from the CBFC. The film was released simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu across the US, UK, Canada, Australia and Southeast Asia. The script cleverly integrates real-world events like the 2014 elections and 2016 demonetization into its spy-fiction narrative.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers and data in this article are compiled from diverse public and industry sources. Dia Mirza on the comparison between ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘IC 814’: ‘We are celebrating jingoism too much now’ |

Dia Mirza defended the ‘IC 814’ series, noting its humanized portrayal of terrorists sparked backlash amid a prevailing jingoistic sentiment. She urged artists to speak out, despite facing trolling and intimidation. While ‘Dhurandhar’ received praise from some, others, including South stars, condemned it as propaganda.

Dia Mirza recently addressed the wave of criticism faced by ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack.’ In an interaction, when a comparison between ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack’ and ‘Dhurandhar’ was drawn, Dia pointed out how the show’s attempt to humanise every character sparked discomfort among viewers. She also highlighted that at this time in point, jingoism is widely celebrated.

Dia Mirza on ‘IC 814’ criticism

Dia opened up on The Namrata Zakaria Show about the criticism her IC 814 team endured for their Kandahar hijack series. ‘Dhurandhar’ got tagged as a “chest thumping film,” while IC 814 faced heat for taking a different path. She shared, “The show was called out for humanising all the characters, including the terrorists. I guess it is because we are celebrating jingoism too much now. We adore it. There is a trend to enjoy and celebrate jingoism, which our show is not. I don’t regret it. It has such a balanced view and gives people the opportunity to see each side the way it was.”

Dia Mirza urges artists to speak up

As industry voices hold back on the film, Dia highlighted why artists must raise their voices. “I think it is very important to be vocal as artists. I am a big Shabana Azmi bhakt, and I follow her message that if art is not utilised to improve the lives of others, then what is the point of art. So yes, I am political, and I have a stand. And yes, I will convey that through the choices I make in the stories I tell.”Dia also recognized the toll of taking these positions, “It is not easy. We are trolled regularly. Beyond that, there is all kinds of intimidation because if you are not in agreement with what larger forces expect, then it is not easy.”

On December 5, Dhurandhar’s release sparked cheers from Bollywood celebs on X. Hrithik Roshan hailed its epic scope, despite political differences. But since Dhurandhar 2 arrived on March 19, he and most others have stayed mum.

Amid layoffs, Mark Zuckerberg's Meta is asking engineers to use AI for…
Meta has set minimum AI coding targets for engineers across divisions, with some teams expected to write over 75% of their code using AI tools like Metamate and Google Gemini. The company has also restructured parts of Reality Labs into small AI “pods” with new job titles. The AI push comes alongside layoffs that hit hundreds of employees this week across multiple divisions.

Meta isn’t just talking about going “AI-native”—it’s putting numbers on it. Internal documents reviewed by Business Insider reveal that the company has set specific targets for how much of its engineers’ code should be written with AI assistance, with some teams expected to hit as high as 75%. The push comes as Meta lays off hundreds of employees and doubles down on artificial intelligence across its operations. The targets vary by division. Meta’s creation org—the team behind core experiences like Messenger, WhatsApp, and Facebook—has set a first-half 2026 goal requiring 65% of its engineers to write more than 75% of their committed code using AI coding tools. The Scalable Machine Learning team, which handles AI models and infrastructure, had a February 2026 target of 50% to 80% AI-assisted code. A companywide Q4 2025 goal for central products called for 55% of software engineers’ code changes to be “agent-assisted.

Meta wants 80% of mid-to-senior engineers using AI tools like Gemini and Metamate

It’s not just about code volume. The company also set a target for 80% of mid-to-senior-level engineers to adopt AI tools like DevMate, Metamate, and Google’s Gemini. The focus here, according to the document, is on tool adoption rather than raw output percentages. A Meta spokesperson told Business Insider that the company’s performance programme rewards impact from AI tools, not just usage.Whether these AI adoption targets are formally tied to performance reviews remains unclear. But the direction is unmistakable. Last November, Meta’s head of people Janelle Gale told employees in an internal memo that “AI-driven impact” would become a core expectation starting 2026. Workers were told to highlight their AI wins in self-reviews, and Meta rolled out an “AI Performance Assistant” to help employees write their own reviews.

Meta Reality Labs restructured into small AI ‘pods’ with new job titles

The coding targets are one piece of a larger organisational overhaul at Meta. A separate leaked memo showed that a 1,000-person division within Reality Labs has been reorganised into small “pods,” with every employee now holding one of three titles—AI Builder, AI Pod Lead, or AI Org Lead. The structure is designed to flatten hierarchies and push cross-disciplinary work, with engineers potentially taking on design tasks depending on the project.Meta’s CTO Andrew Bosworth has also taken direct charge of the company’s “AI for Work” initiative, which drives internal AI tool adoption company-wide.

The push comes as Meta cuts hundreds of jobs

All of this is happening against a backdrop of job cuts. Meta laid off hundreds of employees this week across Reality Labs, recruitment, and other divisions. The company said the restructuring and the layoffs are unrelated—but the optics are hard to ignore. Meta is simultaneously shrinking headcount and demanding that the engineers who remain lean harder on AI to pick up the slack. CEO Mark Zuckerberg himself framed 2026 as the year AI begins to replace what once required large teams with one “very talented” person.

WI-W vs AUS-W, 2nd ODI Match Prediction: Who will win today’s game between West Indies and Australia?

With the three-match ODI series on the line, the West Indies Women face a monumental task to level the scores against a rampant Australian side. After a high-scoring opener that saw records tumble, both teams return to Warner Park for a crucial second encounter.

Australia Women enter this match with a 1-0 series lead and immense momentum. In the first ODI on March 27, the visitors flexed their batting muscles, posting a staggering 341 runs—the highest-ever Women’s ODI total recorded in the Caribbean. Their depth was the story of the day, with Phoebe Litchfield (77) and Nicola Carey (49) leading a collective effort where six batters crossed the 40-run mark.

For the West Indies, the first match was a tale of one-woman resistance. Veteran Stafanie Taylor played a magnificent, unbeaten 105*, but a lack of support from the other end saw the hosts fall 103 runs short. Captain Hayley Matthews will be desperate for her top order to fire and for her bowlers to find a way to contain an Australian lineup that seems to have no “off” switch.

WI-W vs AUS-W, 2nd ODI: Match details

Warner Park Pitch Report

The surface at Warner Park proved to be a batter’s paradise in the opening fixture, yielding 579 runs in a single day. Expect a flat deck with consistent bounce and carry. Aggressive stroke-makers will find plenty of value for their shots, especially during the powerplay. Fast bowlers may find a hint of movement with the new ball under the early humid conditions, but it quickly becomes a toil. Spinners like Ashleigh Gardner and Afy Fletcher will be vital in the middle overs, as the pitch can offer some slow turn as the game progresses. Historically, teams at this venue prefer to chase a total.

We all remember that, in the past, the entire world faced numerous problems for a long time due to Covid. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that Russia captured satellite images of US air bases in the Gulf region, including Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, “multiple times” ahead of an Iranian attack. Also Read | Iranian strike on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia injures 12 US troops, 2 seriously woundedAccording to Zelenskyy, Russian satellites photographed the base on March 24 and 25, indicating that Tehran may have been preparing for the strike. The Ukrainian leader, visiting the Middle East amid the ongoing US-Israel and Iran conflict, announced 10-year defence agreements with Saudi Arabia and Qatar — both Gulf states — covering co-production and energy security.“I was briefed that US military facilities in the Middle East and the Gulf region were photographed by Russian satellites in the interests of Iran. On March 24, they imaged the US-UK joint military facility on Diego Garcia in the Chagos Archipelago in the Indian Ocean. They also captured Kuwait International Airport and parts of the Greater Burgan oil field. On March 25, images were taken of the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. The Shaybah oil and gas field in Saudi Arabia, Incirlik Air Base in Turkiye, and Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar were all photographed on March 26,” Zelenskyy posted on X. “There are no Ukrainian facilities on this list. But who is helping whom when sanctions are lifted from an aggressor that earns daily revenue and provides intelligence for strikes against American, Middle Eastern, UK, and US-UK bases? When surveillance is conducted over facilities in Ukraine, we always understand they must be protected, as plans are underway to destroy them — energy and water infrastructure, military facilities, and more. Everyone knows repeated reconnaissance signals preparations for strikes. How can sanctions be eased if this is what the Russians are doing?” he added.

Saudi Arabia pumps 7 million bpd via east-west pipeline amid Hormuz disruption

Saudi Arabia pumps 7 million bpd via east-west pipeline amid Hormuz disruption

Saudi Arabia has brought its East-West pipeline into full operation, pushing 7 million barrels of oil a day through the route as it works to maintain supplies following the effective shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz, a person familiar with the matter said. The pipeline, which runs across the kingdom to the Red Sea, has become central to efforts to keep exports moving. Oil shipments are now being rerouted to Yanbu, where tankers are loading crude for international markets, offering a crucial alternative at a time when the main passage has been disrupted, Bloomberg reported. According to the person cited by the agency, crude shipments from Yanbu have reached about 5 million barrels a day. In addition, between 700,000 and 900,000 barrels a day of refined products are being exported. Of the total volume transported via the pipeline, around 2 million barrels a day is directed to domestic refineries.Though, even at full capacity, the route does not fully replace the volumes previously shipped through Hormuz, which handled roughly 15 million barrels a day before the war, the availability of this alternative has helped limit the extent of price increases compared to earlier supply disruptions. Market concerns are now shifting towards the Red Sea after Yemen’s Houthis said they are entering the war. While there has been no indication of plans to target vessels passing through the Red Sea or the Bab El-Mandeb strait, the group has in the past threatened shipping in the region using drones and missiles. Saudi Arabia had long prepared for a scenario in which Hormuz could be shut. Its contingency plan was put into action within hours of the first US and Israeli strikes on Iran, with flows along the east-west pipeline increasing steadily since then. The pipeline stretches more than 1,000 kilometres (620 miles) from oil-producing regions in the east of the country to Yanbu on the Red Sea coast. It was originally developed in response to risks highlighted during the 1980s Iran-Iraq war, when tanker attacks disrupted movement through the Strait, though the current situation has led to a near-closure on a scale not seen before.

UP horror: Uncles rape teen, sell her 16-year-old sister | Bareilly News

PILIBHIT: Police registered a case against two men for allegedly raping their 17-year-old niece and selling her 16-year-old sister after the girls were left in their care following their mother’s murder and their father’s imprisonment. According to the complaint filed on Friday evening, one maternal uncle raped the girl while the other stood guard, and the pair later allegedly trafficked the younger sister for money. In her written complaint, the older girl said she and her younger sister had gone to stay at their maternal uncles’ home in a village under Barkhera police station during their school summer vacation in June last year. A month later, on July 3, they learnt that their mother had been killed by their father, who was arrested and lodged in jail, leaving the sisters in the care of relatives who, she alleged, later began targeting them. She added that in Sept, her two uncles took her younger sister away, after which her whereabouts remained unknown. The girl said she later overheard them talking on the phone about a monetary deal and came to fear that they had sold the 16-year-old. “After that, I could not find out where my sister was,” she said in her complaint. After her sister was taken away, the abuse turned directly on her, she said. The girl alleged that early in March this year, while she was asleep, her elder uncle entered her room, forcibly removed her clothes and raped her, while the younger uncle stood guard outside the door. She added that the two men later took her to the campus of SP office and forced her to record a video statement saying that she was returning to her parental home of her own free will. “They threatened to kill my sister if I did not say what they wanted,” the girl said. She said she approached relatives for help in filing a complaint, but found no support, and eventually managed to submit one herself.Barkhera SHO Pramendra Kumar told TOI that one of the maternal uncles was also the complainant against the girl’s father in the murder case of her mother. He said the girl declined a medical examination in writing. “We are now waiting for her court statements for further legal action against the two accused,” he said.Police said the complainant’s exact age was still being verified through her educational documents and that, if she was found to be a minor, sections of Pocso Act would be added to the FIR. Kumar said police had also begun tracing clues about the missing younger sister and were questioning the two accused about her whereabouts.(The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
